Venture out of Orlando

We would like to sight see for a day, outside of Orlando. Would like to make a one day drive to St. Augustine. Would it be easier to go round trip from Polynesian for the day. Or, go after our Dream cruise docks, spend the day then drive back to WDW? Thank you!

I would rather drive to St. Augustine from Port Canaveral than Disney because the traffic on I-4 can be a beast and the I-95 traffic is usually not as bad.

From either place I would plan on about 2.5 hours of drive time, although it may take you only 2 hours.

Whatever way you choose, I would try to plan on avoiding rush hours on I-4.
