I hate people who don't answer their phone ever. I have been calling someone for 3 weeks, business related. On several occasions I have left a message, several other times the mailbox has been full. I thought maybe she was on vacation, I just went to the office and was told she comes in most weekdays between 2-5 and she never answers her phone, she lets it go to VM and will eventually return my call or send an email. Really? And there is no one else that can help me? I am going in between 2-5 every weekday until I find her. I have a simple questions and no one else seems to be able to help.

On the other hand, I want her job. What a nice schedule!

Does she have a boss or supervisor? Record the time & date of every call and report her.

I have a friend that has done this for years...never answers the phone, just lets it go to the machine, and then never listens to the messages. We all just stopped calling...if I really need her I leave a message with her secretary at work. When she complains that she missed an event or something we tell her she'd know if she ever answered the phone!!!

If she is not doing her job, when her VM comes on I would punch "0" ask the operator for her supervisor and say, "XX hasn't returned my call in 2 weeks. Does she still work there? Is there someone else that can help me?"

It is really unacceptable.

I can tell you though I don't return solicitation calls I get at work. I don't have the time or inclination to talk to someone who wants to sell me a marketing list. I get about 5 to 10 a week.

Oh my goodness, this must be an epidemic going around. I have been working with a few employment agencies while I am trying to find a job. There is one woman at a specific agency that is never ever ever there. Its not like I was calling every day, but I would call every 3 days or once a week and every time the secretary said, she isn't in would you like her vm? I left countless messages, growing disgusted every single time. So, in a call somewhere around Christmas time, I was sick, I called once again, and something came over me this time- the secretary said would you like to leave her a msg ? I said, "No! I've left numerous msgs, it won't matter, Nevermind! I haven't called back since. The employment agency called me last week to ask if I was still looking for a job. Are you kidding me?!? I just can't believe that this is acceptable in a business setting. It is totally aggravating!!

Were your trying to call my son's driver ed teacher? I started calling her in October, 2x a week, never getting her, leaving a message. Once every other week, I called the school's main office and left a message with an office clerk for her. She called me back LAST WEEK! And had the nerve to catch an attitude with me because she has been busy due to bad weather.

I feel your pain I needed some HR stuff done for a promotion and the woman in HR who I was supposed to be dealing with would not return any of my calls or emails (or those of my supervisor) for three weeks and we were approaching the processing deadline. Finally my supervisor went to her boss and low and behold 20 min later she gave me the information I needed and I had the forms filled out and submitted 10min later. I just wish people would do their jobs all she had to do was email me one stock form!!

Business who don't return my calls promptly do not retain my business. Problem solved.

Have you tried to email her instead?

I work for them, unfortunately. Its a benefit question.
I dont have her email address. I am stopping by again this afternoon. I am going to stop by the hours that she supposedly is there. I also left a big note taped to her door.

All the people in the office were sympathetic, but none of them knew where I could get what I wanted without talking to her. She keeps everything locked in her office.

This my friends, is why HR departments are going online.
