Vegetarian dishes

Check out the "Happiest Vegan on Earth" blog/instagram for some inspiration.

Some things I really enjoyed:
-Ronto-less wrap in Galaxy's Edge
-BBQ tofu at Riverbelle Terrace (tried both the salad and version with roasted veggies, both good but I wanted to eat my husband roasted veggies more than my salad)
-Cauliflower-dish at Blue Bayou
-Breakfast Schwarma from the cart in Avenger's Campus
-Award Weiners veggie dog
-We didn't make it to Lamplight Lounge but it appears to have some amazing options
-Tacos at Tortilla Jo's

I was disappointed in:
-Veggie burger at Hungry Bear
-Cauliflower sandwich at Red Rose Taverne

There were lots more things we wanted to try at sit down places but we were limited by our very picky child.

While not vegetarian I try and eat plant based whenever possible - really looking forward to some of the DCA Food&Wine offerings, if that coincides with your trip.

Some of my faves in addition to the ones listed above (love the Ronto-less wrap and Cauliflower dish at Blue Bayou):
- veggie gumbo at French Market
- Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup at Jolly Holiday
- Veggie Kebabs from Bengal BBQ
- Felucian Kefta at Docking Bay 7
- Impossible Spoonful at Pym’s in DCA (can also get extra arugula salad)
- Cozy Cone mac and cheese
- Cozy Cone Corn with elote

and I’m really looking forward to trying the Quinoa Bowl from Red Rose next trip, and if I bring enough Lactaid the gigantic fried Mozzarella Stick in DTD

I'm a vegetarian, and my absolute favorite is the forest mushroom pizza at Craftsman Grill at GCH. Rancho Del Zocalo is also a great option. Their cauliflower tacos are really good and they can make off menu things like veggie burritos or a taco salad without meat.

Thanks so much - reading your suggestions makes me hungry! I'm glad they still have the veggie gumbo - I loved that when we went years ago.

DD is a vegetarian.

She loved the Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden spread at Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy's Edge. I am not typically a fan of plant based meat and I thought it was good.

If you are lucky enough to get a reservation for the Lamplight Lounge Brunch, the Potato Flautas are fantastic. I plan to order these myself next time we go and that is saying a lot.

She was not at all a fan of the BBQ tofu at Riverbelle- but she isn't that much of a BBQ person.

My girlfriend is vegetarian and gluten free. She was also very disappointed in the Hungry Bear veggie burger too. They didn’t even put any sauce on it. She also didn’t like the options she got at Lamplight Lounge (other than the potato skins which are very different than normal potato skins).

Happiest Vegan on Earth was key for me. I haven’t real worried about finding vegetarian options, but that site allowed me to figure out which should be ones I prioritized/got excited for! Be sure to drop them an email or tweet or something to let you know how much you appreciate the site (if you end up using it and liking the detailed info)!

Ronto-less was surprisingly good! I found myself actually wishing I could go back and get another even when I had sit down dining reservations coming up! That’s about the only downside for me, lack of seating or general zoo like experience finding seating/shuffling around with your food. Taste was awesome though and mobile order worked really well at this location (even during peak Halloween rush).

I actually found Lamplight to be pretty good too. Certainly more casual “bar fare” and not a lot of options for vegetarians, but they had some pineapple/tropical spiced veggie burger (I think impossible) that actually was super flavorful and unique. It felt like the ground up it was made to be vegetarian (even though it obviously wasn’t being a burger) and was filling. I was happy.

The Shawarma Carts over at Avenger’s Campus we’re also a real highlight. Again something that felt clearly built front the ground up to be vegetarian instead of just just “sub a veggie patty” type of deal. Unique and flavorful. I love the stuff that isn’t something you can normally get; makes it feel more special and “Disney” for me.

I recommend going to the Craftsman Grill at the Grand Californian. You can access it easily through DCA park. Avocado toast and cauliflower truffle grilled cheese are a couple of my favorites.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I was looking through the menus on the Disneyland website, and I have a few more questions, if anyone has time to answer! :)

Do you know if you can get the potato soup at the Carnation Cafe without the bacon on top?

Didn't Schmoozies in DCA used to have a greater variety of smoothies?

How is the penne pasta at the Plaza Inn?

At the Pacific Wharf Cafe, the only soups listed are clam chowder and chili...I thought there used to be at least one vegetarian option?

At the Jolly Holiday Bakery, can you get the egg and bacon croissant without the bacon?

Last, will my 12 and 13 year olds (picky eaters) be able to order from the kids menus?

I can attest to the deliciousness of the Kefta and hummus.

I tried the Ronto-less Garden Wrap for the first time today. Even though I am not a vegetarian and even though I really don’t like plant-based “meat,” and even though I really love the regular Ronto Wrap that contains two meats, I though the Ronto-less Garden Wrap was absolutely fantastic, from the pita (which I know and love) to the spicy kimchi slaw to the pickled cumcumbers and the spicy sauce. The flavors were absolutely fantastic and the veggies so crisp and fresh and the portion was huge. I could live with the plant-based “meat,” which isn’t my favorite due to the soy content but it tasted yummy. For the record I love eating vegetarian I just don’t love fake meat. FYI, it definitely has a spicy kick!

Vegetarian here. I absolutely love the Tofu Salad at Pacific Wharf. I have had it every recent visit (December, February, April). It is so good I crave it!

Other faves are:
  • Ronto-less wrap
  • Jolly Holliday Combo
  • Anything vegetarian at Rancho Del Zocalo has been great
  • Impossible Bahn Mi at Lucky Fortune Cookery - I got the kids meal with a side of veggies
We had the breakfast shwarma for the first time this week. It's OK, I probably wouldn't get it again.

If you are going during Food & Wine we absolutely loved the Chile Relleno Empanada!

At DCA Paradise Garden Grill usually always has a vegetarian option. I didn't make it over there this week to try the Impossible Gyro. And the Studio Catering Truck usually has something plant-based. We missed trying plant-based Al-Pastor-loaded potato!

I try not to go get things I can easily get at home (just regular Impossible Burgers & fries) but the Pastrami-spiced impossible burger at Lamplight Lounge is really good. Also loved the Brussels Ceasar!

That tofu salad looks good, but the sourdough slices threw me off! It doesn't seem to go with it, but I guess sourdough is always good. I'm going to give it a try next trip!

Yeah, me too. But I ended up loving having a little bread with my salad, it made it more hearty.

At the Jolly Holiday Bakery, can you get the egg and bacon croissant without the bacon?

Pacific Wharf used to have a cheddar broccoli soup as the vegetarian option. I have not tried to get it post-pandemic so I can't say if it still exists (several of our favorite vegetarian dishes, including the veggie chili cone, disappeared after the pandemic). I think the corn chowder has returned at French Market on the Disneyland side though which is one of my favorite Disneyland foods!

I've tried ordering the egg and bacon croissant at Jolly Holiday without the bacon on multiple occasions and had mixed success (this is another thing I have not tried since the pandemic). I think I was able to get it once; I know there have been at least a couple times though where they couldn't accommodate customization because they were too busy/had everything staged already.

Also one more +1 to the vegetarian ronto wrap! My mother, who is the only non-vegetarian in our travel party, puts that at the top of her food requests every Disneyland trip now.

If you can get into Lamplight Lounge brunch, get the chilaquiles!

I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, but I ALWAYS get the vegan shawarma breakfast wrap at Avengers campus. It's one of my favorite foods at Disney.

For the potato soup, yes I ordered it this way on Monday. Also was able to order a side of broccolini and it was plenty of food!

Your 12 & 13-year old shouldn’t have a problem ordering from the kids menu. My friend‘s 20-year old got mac and cheese off the kids with no issue.
