I have just been exploring the online ADR system and have noticed that under dietry requirements there is no option for vegans or vegetarians. It does state that if you require Kosher meals then you must call. It seems strange that you can indicate allergies to foods but not these other options, or am I just missing it?:confused3

I thought the same thing while making some online ADRs. I am a vegetarian and wish you could just state that on there somewhere. In my past experience Ive found that it doesnt matter if you tell the ppl on the phone in advance when making ADRs, no one ever knew I was a vegetarian until I got there. GL

Once you have booked it - could you ring at a quieter time and ask them to add the requirement? I was hoping to do this for a special occassion.

I think one of the issues with kosher meals or allergy meals is that some restaurants might need to order special ingredients in advance, while most veggie meals can be made with what they already have on hand. I've always had good luck with vegetarian dishes.

From my conversations, WDW sees veg/vegan as a "food choice" that is optional, not a religious or health/medical issue. So depending on the timing/CM etc-you may get varying degrees of help. I have found most chefs to be very understanding and accomodating. i would definitely call the spcl meals people and speak to them.

I haven't tried the online, but could you put under allergies that you are allergic to meat, fish, dairy, eggs? Is that an option or are there only specific allergies to choose from?

I just found it a bit strange that with so many dietary variations Disney doesn't give an option to indicate it. I think it is one of those things that you need to just 'chase up' when you get to the restaurant.

Since all the TS restaurants have vegetarian options either on the menu or can prepare a dish there and then, as opposed to maybe having to get stuff in specially say if it was a specific allergy or something, I guess there's no real need for advance notice. My bf is vegetarian and although when we went in 2007 I did add it to the ADRs I made on the phone most of the time it wasn't mentioned until my bf brought it up so not sure it actually made any difference to give prior notice :confused3 This year I haven't bothered as really he had no problems at all and was often offered things like larger portions of one of the appetiser dishes if he didn't like the veggie main :)
