Vegetables and breads with entrees

I have studied DW restaurant descriptions and menus until I am dizzy! This is my first trip to DW and I have DDP. Some of the TS entrees only have meat listed. Granted the meat may be in a sauce that may includes mushrooms or may have a watercress garnish on it, but no vegetable sides. Surely they just aren't listing the veggies and bread that comes with it? I don't want to pay extra so I can have vegetables with my meat and I don't want to give up meat to get a vegetarian meal.

What you see is what you get, although you could ask for substitutions. I recall a lot of them have or had potato sides - everything is changing so quickly I am not sure anymore - maybe you could ask for some green veggies instead of the potatoes

I think most TS restaurants - at least the signature ones - give you bread before the entree.

Sometimes there are enough veggies to make it an official side. For instance, at the Wave, the fish I had came on top of a mixture veggies. At Kona, my mahi mahi came with rice and a veggie (I can't remember what), and DH had asparagus with whatever he had. Also, the restaurants will often let you swap sides. We just returned from eight nights (8/5-8/13), and we never were served just a piece of meat (or chicken or fish). It always had enough of something else.

Ahhh ... so you are trying to eat ... healthy? (laughing because there are so many temptations at WDW!)

As other posters say, there usually is something with the TS meal such as asparagus (and a pototo or rice). But I will have to say, usually not much. Which is why DH and I normally will order a salad. They are considered an appetizer and therefore not on the DDP. I think a salad helps to fill me some so I am not just shoving in the rest of the meal. Depending on where you eat, there may or may not be bread. Sometimes that must be ordered as an appie too. I have never gone hungry at WDW with or without the bread.

But I still usually get some sort of salad.

Sigh... This complicates things - just when I thought I had it figured out. :confused3 I have no intention of letting a single dessert go to waste, SnwflkCts, and I won't be wasting my snack credits on a piece of fruit. :) I just like veggies and I am taking my son who isn't vegetarian, but doesn't eat a lot of meat, either. We'll just keep some veggies and fruit in our room for snacks.
