I'm looking for a nice hotel in Vegas ON THE STRIP. I was thinking about Paris, but now I'm looking at Wynn Encor as well. There is about a $400 difference between the two. Do you think it worth it??

What other hotels do you recommend, and why? I would like a nice pool, as I see myself spending most of my time there, and I don't really care much about the casino. Also being close to other places is nice, we like to walk around a lot.

Thanks!

$400 is not worth it to me. Paris has a GREAT location, mid strip, can walk pretty much everywhere from there. I haven't been to the pool though. I think MGM and Mandalay have great pools, but they are further down the strip. Mirage is my favorite pool, and I think is more centrally located.

I stayed at Encore last Sept and LOVED it!

However, I found a code on vegaspromoguide.com which was $129 per night, buy 2 nights, get 1 free, AND a $50 credit. So, it was about the same rate as Mirage, Paris, etc.

I wouldn't pay $400 more to stay there since it is on the North end of the strip. We walked down as far as Imperial Palace so we never made it to Monte Carlo, NYNY, etc. on that end of the strip.

I loved that it was right across from the Fashion Show Mall too. Great places to eat there like Cafe Ba Ba Reeba and Stripburger. They also have a convenience store if you wanted to buy liquor, snacks, water, etc.

The pool at Encore was awesome. There are two pools at Encore, 1 European, although nobody was topless when we went. Encore guests can also use the Wynn pools, but Wynn guests cannot use Encore.

Have you checked vegaspromoguide, smartervegas, or the trip advisor forum for codes? They are great resources to get codes & discounts. Remember, when you book directly with the hotel, you can cancel & rebook for no charge. We did this 3 separate times before we went b/c we kept finding better deals.

Hope that helps! Hope I didn't confuse you even more.

If the price is comparable, I'd book Encore. If it is $400 more, I'd stay mid-strip.

Have a great trip!

Personally I would choose a hotel mid strip. The Paris has a great location, but my favourite hotel is the Bellagio. It has a great location (opposite the Paris), I love the theaming of it and the rooms are really nice (especially the lake view ones so you can watch the dancing fountains.)

I love Paris, think it's a great value & great location- I personally wouldn't spend $400 more for any room, we get comped and have had some outragous rooms at Caesars Palace and didn't spend much time in them anyway! Pool at Imperial Palace is beautiful, Caesars pool is awesome too, don't know how Paris's pool is because we stayed there in January so it wasn't open anyway- but I would say they all have pretty AWESOME pools, just be forwarned... they are very CROWDED, so get there early & bring the sunscreen! ENJOY & Have a Mojito for me by the pool!

The Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian and Palazzo have a higher rating than any of the other hotels. I absolute love the Venetian pool.

I have stayed at almost every hotel on the strip and I definitely think it's worth the money to stay at one of these as opposed to the others.

While Mandalay probably has the best pool according to most, I'm not a huge fan of the resort. Even if you don't take the location (way on the end of the strip) into account, the rooms are not near as nice. If you do decide to go to Mandalay, stay at the Hotel at Mandalay, not at Mandalay. Rooms are better there. I still like the 4 named above better though.

I Love to Stay at Planet Hollywood because you get starwood points if you have a starwood card and upgrades plus it is smack in the center of the strip. The pool is not great but the atmosphere is. Has a mall attached to it plus many great food places.

I also love staying at the Wynn but only if they offer cheap member rates which they do once in awhile. I like the wynn because it has a walkway to the mall and also great slots. Their rooms are so perfect and gorgous and large and I could go on and on.

I love the Venetian. But I would like to stay at Paris someday in the future. But I am a very loyal Venetian fan, so I have a problem booking anywhere else. If I got a chance to stay at the Bellagio I would do that too. I think any of those choices would be great. My sister and friends stayed at the Wynn and hated it.

DH goes to a conference every year that takes place at the Venetician. He says it's swanky and a great hotel. But the Bellagio is one I would love to try!

Caesar's Palace - Augustus Towers is beautiful. The pool area is really nice as well. It is a great location. Have also stayed at Paris, but prefer Caesar's. We love Vegas and always refer to it as Disney World for grown ups!

Have fun.

I would pick Paris. It's all about location. Tons to see mid-strip.

We usually stay at The Venetian. LOVE IT! :thumbsup2

Bellagio. Not that I've ever been there, or even been to Vegas, but I like to dream. :rolleyes1

As with WDW location is important, we love mid-strip. so for that reason I would choose Paris. For pool we love Flamingo. go the www.cheapovegas.com it has great info on the hotels plus links to all the hotels.
