We'll be at BLT 9/10. If one day we drove to VB for the day, would we be allowed to pool
hop there? Use our room key to charge? Use which, if any, amenities there? How long a drive is it in terms of hours?

I thought it took about 2 hours to get to VB from WDW the one time we did it. You probably wouldn't be able to use your room key to get into the pool area because it is gated. The access to the beach is also gated from the resort.

It is about a 2 hr drive. If you're staying on points at BLT (hold the mayo) then you should be able to pool hop so long as it's not a blackout date and so long as VB is not full-up. You can always call over before you leave to check on this. You will not be able to use your KTTW card from BLT to charge for anything, and you'll have to get a pass card from the VB front desk so you can access the pool and beach areas. Also, with the recent change in pool towel policy at DVB, I'd suggest you come prepared with your own towels.
