Vanessa- figmentfan814 ~ Happily Ever Wedding & 10th Anniversary VR Brunch #1 Added 8-10

Lovin your TR!!! I love the little frames on the bouquet. That is a very nice touch. I have a broach of my grandmothers I would like to have on my bouquet as well for my "something old". The bouquet was beautiful!! Can't wait to see more!
I was really happy with how the broach looked. I had several to choose from, so I sent pictures to Laura and told her to choose the one that would work the best.

What a wonderful way to remember your grandparents. :lovestruc

Everything looks so beautiful so far! I'm sure it just gets better!

Jennifer
Thanks, Jennifer! The day does get better or at least for me it all played out into a perfect fairytale.

Vanessa, your flowers are gorgeous. I really like the idea of the pictures on your bouquet. My mom passed away 1 1/2 years ago and when I saw what you did I immediately knew I should do something similar. Now I can't imagine not doing it! Thank you so much! I can't wait to read more!! :surfweb: :goodvibes
It was such a nice way to honor their memory. My grandma (my mom’s mother) had passed away before my parents were even married and my mom said that she wished that people did little things like that 30 years ago at the time of their wedding.

Yep, the not quite right peonies were mine. Before the wedding I was considering preserving my bouquet, but the minute I actually saw it, I changed my mind. I had Rose Dizon.

Did you preserve yours? It really was beautiful.

I think you deserve a prize for the most DIY projects for a disbride. There are so many disbrides who have done tons of amazing DIY projects, but I think you may have the most and it's fun seeing how they all got implemented throughout your trip and the actual wedding! The tiny framed photos of your grandparents was a wonderful idea!
I’ve heard some really good and some really bad stories about Rose, so I’m sorry that you were one of the ones that had a bad experience.

I am having mine preserved through Keepsake. I ended up spending a little more than I originally planned, but I can’t wait to see it. Our frame will have my bouquet, Kris’ boutonniere, our invitation, program, and a picture. It is going to be 18X20 which is kind of big. Some of the extra flowers I’m having made into a Christmas ornament. I got a little carried away as you can see

Thank you for noticing all the little touches in the DIY projects. There were some that got pushed to the wayside (including a lot of homemade treats that we wanted to make) but I was so happy with how everything turned out. Actually, the Mickey chocolates that I was going to make for the Welcome Bags are now being made for our at-home reception.

I was hoping for more, but I guess I have to be patient and wait :rotfl:

I love it so far! :goodvibes
I know, I really want to get more done too, I’ve just been swamped with moving and our at-home reception is coming up really quickly. Organizing the decorations and taking care of RSVPs, etc. has been making me go crazy! :scared1:

I just popped in to see if you had made another post....and YEA YOU DID!:cool1: I love the pin your dad gave you! My mom did a disappearing act when Brad and I were cutting and eating our cake (my stepdaughter had to go to the bathroom of course) but no one noticed she was gone to stop us...including me. Not a very good daughter I know:sad2: I was caught up in all the excitement. Oh well...she got to see it on the video :rolleyes1
Anna Marie
I was really touched by the pin from my dad; it was nice that he picked out something like that for me on his own. That’s too funny about your mom disappearing too. At least my mom didn’t miss anything too important.

Vanessa finally I caught up!!! Great pictures :)!!!!!!! I love the pictures and brooch on the ribbon!!!! Very nice!!!
Thanks, Lynn! I feel like such a slacker; you have blown through your report and I’m not even to my wedding ceremony yet :upsidedow

How sweet of your dad to give you the pin! Love your memorial pins!

Keep it coming:surfweb:
I thought I was going to loose it when my dad gave me the pin; it really was so sweet for him to think of it.

I love those pins, Vanessa. Cant' wait to read more. Everything you did looks like it came together so nicely. All of our projects are so inspiring!
Thank you so much, I hope that other brides have just as much fun with their projects as I did!

I love the picture Idea....I got a heart shapped locket andI am going to put a picture of my Mom from her wedding day and one from right before she passed away inside and add it to my bouquet!
The locket sounds like it will be beautiful. As I mentioned above, my grandma had passed away before my mom’s wedding and I know she would have loved to include her memory that way too.

Love the wedding pics. They were beautiful
All I can say is that Randy is AMAZING! :cloud9:

Vanessa - I am so enjoying this so far and you're not even married yet. I love the girls dresses how you did them in different pastels, your flowers were gorgeous.
I was so happy with how the colors all came together. Since I didn’t see all the dresses side by side until the wedding day it was a little nerve racking.

I adore your flowers!!! This is my first post. In fact I've read your entire PJ and TJ in 2 days! I can't wait to read the rest! By the way, do you know how I can get a wedding ticker thing? I set my date with disney yesterday and I'm so excited!!

We just got back on Friday and I spent the weekend trying to get readjusted to the 6 hour time difference again I should forewarn everyone that my laptop is still being repaired :badpc: (I sent it our before we left for Hawaii) so I have to sneak time on the computer from my DH who is always glued to his laptop. I’m suppose to get it back some time this week, so I can hopefully finish the wedding day for my TR this weekend. After I finish up the wedding stuff I will do a short report on Hawaii.

Thank you! We had a wonderful time :goodvibes

Laura, I would love to see a picture of you and your DH in Hawaii! Pearl Harbor was so interesting, both of our grandfathers fought in WWII so that made it more touching. I highly recommend the audio tour for anyone that might be visiting there. It’s free to visit the memorial, but it’s worth springing the $5 for the audio tour. They even had some of the soldiers that were there that day on it.

It looks like Wendy was able to answer your question, but let me know if you want any designs sent to you. I have the Disney bride and a few other ones saved on my computer :bride:

I highly recommend Randy, I can’t remember if I mentioned this before but he was just recognized by the Knot for the second year in a row for his work. He is so easy to work with and his work is phenomenal. Plus, his prices are great for a budget.

Have you decided who you’re using for your hair and makeup? Anna from Makeover Majic was so great, she is really easy going and will do anything you want.

We had a rental car for several days on Oahu and the entire time on Maui :drive: We took some time to go up to the North Shore which was so much more relaxed and laid back compared to Waikiki. I’m glad we had that chance. We also stopped at the Dole Pineapple Plantation for a Dole Whip :drinking1 On Maui we got visit several parks that most of the regular tourists don’t have time to do, so that was nice too!

How long did you live in Hawaii? I was amazed talking to locals how expensive it is to live there. I noticed the price difference in everything we bought plus when we were on Maui gas was $4.20 per gallon :scared1: It must have been an amazing experience though regardless of the costs :beach:

Thank you for thinking of us, Cam :thanks: It was indescribable!
I am glad that we had some time after the wedding before we left so we were really able to enjoy ourselves :love2:

It was fabulous to live there, and we did for 12 years. But couldn't really build a future for my girls. The cost of living was so high, it wasn't really possible to save for a house or their college or anything else really!

We moved to Arizona 12 years ago, and both daughters will have graduated from College this year, and own more than 1 house!

But no :beach:

:sad1:

:welcome: to the boards and thank you for spending time reading my journals. I hope I kept you entertained :surfweb:

You can go to www.tickerfactory.com or another favorite is www.daisypath.com Daisypath allows you to upload a picture that is attached to your ticker. You can also create a Disney one at ************** Basically, all you do is select what you want and enter your date then you copy over the code that is generated. Just go under your user CP and then edit signature then paste the code.

So, when is your date? I just love hearing about people who are just starting out with their plans.

I would like to add this to my flowers also with a picture of my mom who passed away 2.5 years ago. Can you please let me know where you got the great little frame lockets?

Thanks,
Linda

I definitely see what you mean, we met another guy who was there on business who had grown up there but moved once he started a family because the costs are so high and he said the education system wasn't that great either.

Vanessa,

Hello...I was just wondering how many people you were allowed to have at Fresh for your rehearsal luncheon?? I am seriously considering using their space, I think it would fit better into our budget. :) Also, I would really like to start my PJ sometime soon, but I have no idea how to post pics.... Is it kind of like posting my wedding ticker? Somehow, I figured out how to do that....Also, I really don't know how to post a link....HELP......:worship: Thanks.

As always, loving your trippie!

Can't wait to hear more details & see more pictures!

:surfweb: popcorn::

Thanks for the link for the frames. 36 frames are quite alot of frames - but the price is great. I just need one for my mom and one for Sheldon's mom. Maybe I can add some frames to my welcome bag. What did you do with all your extras?

Linda

We had 25 at FRESH, but there was plenty of space for more. If you want the contact information or copies of the menu just let me know. They really were fantastic and it was such a beautiful room, plus the privacy was nice!

For the pictures, most of us use www.photobucket.com Just create an account and then you can upload images to their site. In the area near where you browse to upload an image select the image size 640x480, so they fit on the screen for the board. Don't worry it will make sense once you get in there. Once an image is uploaded you just copy over the "IMG code" into your posting and then the image will appear :goodvibes

For a link, I just copy it over into my post and it will automatically become a hyperlink.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm more than happy to help out :cheer2:

I will have to look through my wedding stuff a little, but I know I still have a ton left. I could mail you a couple, just PM me your address and I would be more than happy to share them :goodvibes

Vanessa,
I was very excited to see that you used my favorite pic from your wedding (the one where you are holding the globe in your hand) in your signature! I get to see it all the time now :goodvibes I'm patiently waiting for more...I know how it is with the busy life and all. I also wanted to let you know that I haven't started my trippie yet because my home computer crashed. It won't recognize any software including windows, so it won't even start up. It is off at the computer doctor and until it is fixed I have to check up on you at work :thumbsup2 At least I still get to see your posts! I'll check again soon!
Anna Marie

Vanessa, after reading through all of this, I am convinced you should be a wedding planner! Your attention to detail, as well as your thorough and gentle care of everything would be extremely appreciated by any bride!

Your gift bags alone were amazing. My jaw kept dropping!

Everything turned out beautifully.

Plus, the folders that were given out didn’t all include the same things because some people obviously didn’t get an invitation to the tea and people who weren’t coming to the Welcome Party didn’t get one of those invites either. Also, I had other inserts such as the pressed penny sheet that only went to certain people. I will post all the things that were inserted into the folders, but here is a basic rundown:
 Welcome Newsletter
 Welcome Party Invitation
 Hidden Mickey document
 Scavenger Hunt
 Customized Crossword Puzzle
 Tea Party invitation
 Park Maps
 Contact Cards (my dad spent a lot of time on these, so I’ll have to post these)
 Pressed Penny guide (and some shiny pennies!)
 Postcards with stamps

I love your welcome bags! Wow... that must have taken a lot of time and effort. I am working on mine as well and was wondering if you could post a close-up of your Welcome Newsletter and Guest Tips Packet to give me some ideas. Your folder of goodies looks amazing!

Vanessa-I've read through your trippie and pj,..and got hooked by the picture of you in your signature! I'm so happy for your and Kris! I really want to see more pictures of your reception at the Living Seas! That is me and my boyfriend's favorite place in all of Disney world...I'd love to have a reception of my own there someday...could you pm me or even just post more pictures from there for me to see ? Thank you!!

Thanks for all the tips and info!!!! I would really like all the information about Fresh, that would be great!!! I was also wondering what the pressed penny guide was that was in your welcome bags, and if there was any way I could see that....Also, how did you determine who to invite to the tea party?? Was it just all the ladies?? Thanks again...:)

Vanessa, I too would love to see the welcome newsletter and the guest tips. I was also curious about how you decided on who to invite to your tea party. I am just looking for what some different people did, as this has been a sticky point for me.

Thanks

Amy
