Hi,

We are 11 in total and now after AA changing our flights a few times we will arrive Vancouver Airport after midnight. Any recommendations for the airport to hotel transfer at that time?
Also 1st time in Vancouver and will have 3 full days before our cruise to see as much as we can. Appreciate all your tips.

We used Star Limousine to transport us and our luggage to the ship on our Alaskan cruise. We had 11 people and a wheel chair. They used one of those Mercedes Sprinters to transport us and all of our luggage. They were wonderful.

You will love Vancouver and will not have any problems finding things to do for 3 days.

Thank you so much! I am going to call them today to see.

I checked the rate for our family of 11 with Aerocar and see what they are quoting me:

The rate for this service would be $300.00 ($190.00 + $50.00(Trailer) + $12.00(GST) + $48.00(20% Gratuity). This includes a Meet and Greet service at the airport, a trailer for all the luggage and a 14 passenger van.

I believe we will be a lot better with 3 taxis...

For starters.... forget the train/subway. If the group does not need to stay together.... get a three or four cabs. There should be lots of them.

Cab to downtown is about $31 ($24 USD) a carload. If the vehicles are too small... look down the line to see if there are minivans. Some can carry 6 passengers for the same $31 carload.

You don't need to make the decision on cab vs aerocar right now. The cab stand and aerocar dispatch is 30 feet apart when you arrive. Here's aerocar's rates...

Did you see in the other thread the OP made the mention by another dis'er that even the minivans won't take even 5 passengers? That's what we've been told, but I believe you have said otherwise in the past and you are saying it here, too. You replied in the other thread to something else. The specific post I'm mentioning is by poisonivy on the 1st page of the thread.

I was there with poison ivy and I personally asked a bellhop, then I looked inside a minivan and saw 1 bench seat (3) and the front passenger seat. The driver told me that there were no vans to hold more then 4 passengers.

When driving behind some minivans.... I'm seeing decals that state max capacity is 6 passengers.

I'm going to do more research in the coming days. Perhaps the 5th passenger is in a wheelchair. The 6th passenger is the driver.

One idea is to grab one of these minivans and have your 4 passengers.... but load ALL the group's luggage into the minivan to make the smaller Prius vehicles more comfortable.
