I'm going to WDW in November and I'm looking at car rentals for my party of 7. We all need to be in the same vehicle, two cars is out of the question.

I've been looking at rates and all I've found for our 15 day stay is the Costco rate for a fullsized van (Sienna or Odessey or similar) for 1000 USD. Is that right?! I asked already on the November 2017 car rental watch thread but no one has answered me.

Can we do better for our group of 7? And how?

Thank you!

A huge vehicle that will hold that many people plus luggage is rare, so the rates don't really have to compete much (small market). Do you get the Mousesavers newsletters? They often have discount codes in them to try.

I rented a minivan in Orlando last February through Costco. The rate dropped from $1100 to $600 for 16 days. I just rebooked and cancelled the old reservation. Stick with it and check every week. It is worth the effort.

I have used this code at Budget for

Definitely keep looking for a better price, but since Costco doesn't take a deposit up front, I'd at least reserve that vehicle and cancel when you find a better deal.

Have you looked at the next size up (larger) van. It's a 12 seater. I am renting one in two weeks and it was actually less money than the 7 seater. They are not too difficult to drive.

Agree with PPs keep watching the prices and check all offers. We ended up paying under $500 all in for 18 days for a full size hybrid picked up Jan 1st so during the Christmas break. The original cost with discount codes was almost that amount for a week so well over $1,000. We got this prices with an airline link that came about 5 weeks before we left. (I almost did not check it because in the past I have gotten much better rates with the Car Rental codes.)

When we picked up our vehicle I was surprised to see a lot of large vans and SUVs in the lot so they have a good stock and they do not seem to be as popular as they expected. (again Jan 1 so I would have expected low inventory)

Good luck.

Absolutely Costco.ca! I have a minivan booked Oct 29 -Nov 9 for $349 USD and am happy with that price, but check several times a week for price drops. Easy to cancel and rebook. Costco also includes the 2nd driver (doesn't have to be spouse or co-worker, either. We have been using them for past 6 years, almost always Alamo, and have never been able to find as good a price or worry-free source.

I have also been shopping around for van rentals for our drive to disney world. Had no idea you could do this through costco. Are they with unlimited kms? Pickup in canada? Tell me more! Lol

Great thread! Never booked through Costco. So, do you just go to Costco.ca and enter your membership # to book?
Yes. I am currently looking for December in California. The price right now is about $1000 for 17 days. I would be happy with $700. The price has already dropped $100 in the month I have been looking. I will reserve in May/June and then check every week. I rebook at the reduced rate and then cancel the old reservation. One year I rebooked 7or 8 times.

Thank you, Susie!

We also rent thru Costco/Alamo. Currently have a mid size SUV booked for 10 days in Ft Lauderdale for $366
But I expect price to drop to around $200, doesn't have to be SUV. I'd book a midsize or full size if that price is cheaper than SUV. We return car after WDW check in as we stay onsite so don't need rental. Alamo is convienent for us to return car because it's on site at WDW.
I check a couple of times a week, then a month before travel I check daily. Prices go up and own like a Yoyo.

If you are staying off site and have to use toll roads look at car rental policy for toll charges. The so called budget car rental companies (Dollar, etc) have the highest admin charges for tolls if you use their toll by plate or transponder option.

I have a van rental from Dec 16-30 through Budget at $450 for two weeks plus $127.55 in taxes for a total of $577.55. I am very happy with this rate

I have reserved a mini van for August 14-sept 2, just shy of three weeks, and my total is 756 US at Costco. If I pay that, it will be perhaps the most I have ever paid for a van rental in Florida. My comparison though, is trips I have made in May or June, and I have been able to get a van for a month at times for around 650. I have typically got best deals at Alamo or National in the past, but everything in August, right now, seems over $1000 and more for a van, so my Costco price is pretty decent so far.
