There was not a coffee maker in our room in Pop in 9/07.

According to the Disney's new panel of expert travellers, all rooms at Pop Century have both a coffee maker and a hairdryer.
I know there are hairdryers, but there weren't coffeemakers and none available as of our last trip.

If there are coffee makers now, that would be good to know.
If the "panel" is giving out bad info, it would be good to know also.
[I'm willing to cut them some slack, as it just started up, but really!]

Thanks!

That would be great! I was just contemplating picking up a cheapo to send down for our Pop trip next month.
Who is the "panel"?

Disney's official website has a new "moms" panel that just started up. There was a big contest to get on it, and some of the winners are members here.
I think it's a great idea, but was concerned that if one post had wrong info, maybe others did?
Which isn't a big deal here, because we correct each other, but that panel is an "official" panel and there is no way to post a response to their answers.
Anyway, just curious.
Sounds like they were most likely wrong, according to Pokemom.
They will probably have less problems like that in the future as they get up and running.
I would imagine that wdw employees would oversee it.
[Though, they aren't always the best source of info either, LOL!]

For those who are interested, we were able to pick up a coffee-maker for $8 at WalMart in Kissimmee. We just left it with our fridge swap when we left.

We were at POP from 12/31 - 1/7 and did not have a coffee maker in the room. There is a hair dryer though.

i bought a small, mini french-press (from the container store, during the christmas season) to bring with us to make DHs favorite dunkin donuts coffee in the room (also bringing along a mug and an immersion coil....) - takes up less room than a small one-cup portable coffeemaker

We just got the packaged Dunkin Donuts coffee here in Utah and it is so good! We don't have Dunkin Donuts out here so I had never had their coffee before. It's yummy!

interesting that as of 1/1/07 there were no coffee makers, i have spoken to POP directly several times in the past month and made a point of asking about this and was told that they did have both in the rooms. Will be there in 2 weeks sooo:confused3

Man, that is frustrating! :confused3

Hey, let us know when you get back what happened!
Maybe they do have them now, but you have to request them???

Still not the same as "We have them in all rooms."

Hmmm....

To the best of my knowledge there are no coffee makers in the Value resorts, even by request. It is one of the very few in-room amenities that separates the Values from the Mods. I would be thrilled if they did provide them, I just don't think that is the case.

There were hairdryers when I was at Pop last year, but no coffeemakers then.. We are headed to Allstar Sports in a few weeks and I picked up a coffee maker at Walmart the day after Thanksgiving for $5! I plan on bringing it home to keep for future trips but if Im not able to I plan on leaving it behind.. I did that last year when I went and picked up a $5 one the day after Thanksgiving the year before and just left it behind.. it was worth it for $5 to have coffee in the mornings..

Wow...what a typo by the Moms Panel...lol

I personally started a coffee maker swap last year at POP.....maybe they are getting top secret info...????

LOL, that's funny! maybe they just assumed the coffee maker swap was available to all guests. :thumbsup2

I'm lucky...dh will drink the nasty nescafe. I was just shocked to read their assurance that there WERE coffee makers in each room.
Wonder if I go back and check if that post is still there. Hmmm...

Thanks all!

When I called about ASMu yesterday I asked if it was an option to get a coffee maker in the room and was told no.

Well, at least we can browse around here and find out when we make boo boos:goodvibes

But since it sounds like you guys know more about the Values than I may know (I've only stayed their once)..would you help a "Dad" out with a related question?

I could call Disney, or look in a book, but thought you guys might find it fun to help out. Please no flaming - I'm just too tired these days to handle it. OK?

So, my question is: In one of my Moms Panel posts I mentioned that the All Star Music family suites have a coffee maker. I've never stayed in one, so I called Disney to get detail, and I am 99% that a CM told me that they do (plus microwave and refrigerator). Am I wrong? I'm not to proud to admit it and get it fixed.

FYI, we're still getting used to this new gig. There will be some bumps in the road along the way, for sure, but hopefully it adds more value than mistakes.

Please know I meant everything in jest....

Congrats by the way:)

You will notice, hopefully, not many even posted here..that is a good sign. Usually some folks love to add their negative 2 cents....not here....

I am glad you posted!

If anything, please know many are envious, but hopefully all in a positive way, such as myself:)
Good luck, and feel free to pm me with any questions....lol...just kidding:)
