Thinking about rental points from david's dvc rental for our upcoming trip in feb for the princess 1/2 marathon. The value studio is most likely the only way we will be able to stay at a deluxe and I love AKL.
How are the value studios?
are they alot smaller then a regular studio?
what kind of view can I expect?
from what it looks like on the point calculator on the website its a really good price about 1050 for 6 nights. what do I need to know aobut renting points? Is this something i should do?

Value rooms go fast, it might be too late. You need to book at 11 months.

They are about three feet shorter in depth than the non-value studio at AKV Jambo House (all the value villas are in Jambo House). They aren't as small as the BLT studio, but a lot less expensive.

And Debbie B is correct. You need to book these at 11 months out.

Have you checked out OKW studios? They are a bit bigger, but also cost a little more.

How are the value studios?

good to really great.

IMO, yes. they are 50 sq ft smaller than the other studios. great for up to 2 adults...not a good idea for more than 2 adults and a small child IMO.

what kind of view can I expect?

value refers to the size. the view might be parking lot view, pool view or savanna view.

as a bonus, all value rooms are relatively near the lobby.

read the FAQs on david's site and that should be a great place to start.

unfortunately, he agrees with debbie. there are at most 18 value studios (depending on how many are locked off to create 2BR villas - so probably only a dozen or so) - so they tend to be booked up quickly by owners at the 11 month window...

At 11 months in advance of your check in date, we recommend reserving any of the following rooms as they are some of the first to sell out:

Animal Kingdom Villas
•Concierge Level Studio
•Concierge Level 1 Bedroom
•Concierge Level 2 Bedroom
•Value Studio
•Value 1 Bedroom
•Value 2 Bedroom

I agree that OKW might be a great option for a studio for you. Or even SSR, low points but more room! OKW is the biggest and the studios all have 2 queens. SSR has a queen and a pull out sofa.
