Hello! We are planning out our trip for next year and trying to work out our budget (especially with room rates coming out soon). We are renting points for half of our trip but the other half we haven't really decided what to do. It will be me, my husband, my 12 yo son and my 2 yo son (who will be in a crib). Since the baby was born, the four of us have stayed at Caribbean beach and an OKW studio and there was enough space to be comfortable. Do you think we will be too cramped in a Value room? Any tips or experiences that might be helpful? I am thinking Pop but open to all options. Thank you!

The main things to consider is that the room is noticeably smaller at a value, and the beds are smaller. Full size instead of queens. And there is also only one sink instead of two. I know people do it, but for me it would be too tight. There is not a lot of floor space, and the crib will take up much of that.

Our family of five have stayed at ASMu. My kids were 11, 8 and 2 at the time. We had a pack-n-play. It was a tight squeeze, but that was before any of the kids had any kind of electronic device...so when lights went out...they were out. Check out the price difference for a family suite at ASMu. It would be nice to have the baby in the crib in the bedroom, and your 12 year old in the other...or maybe you put them together and leave the bedroom for just you parents.

Happy Planning!

Thank you! That is a good idea about the suite as well... This past trip we spent much less time in the room than I thought we would with my then 9 month old and I'm not sure how to anticipate how much we will be in there when he is just over 2.

Thank you! The full beds I actually forgot about as a factor...hmm. Much appreciated!

Pop is renovating...2 queens now. One being a Murphy bed, but still...2 queens. No room for the crib, though, from the sounds of it. Can 2 year old sleep with one of the older people? Parent or brother..

When my kids were that little, we would let them take their naps in their strollers. We would just find a nice spot with AC and take a break in the park. We tried several times to go back to the room and have them take an official nap. It just wouldn't work. They would have nothing to do with the nap, while my husband and I would be dying to snooze a little! If we left them in their stroller, they would sleep a good hour or two strolling through the parks! Haha! A ride in their stroller on the monorail also worked well to get them to nap, and then we would just hang out in a hotel lobby or go back to MK or Epcot and stroll around while they napped.

You are right...now that our kids are older, we find we have more time in our room than we did when they were younger.

Have a great time!

Wow I had no idea! That is good news bed-wise. Not sure if he will be ready to sleep in a big bed because he will be newly two but if he is then I am definitely open to sharing. When are the rooms going to be done?

Summer or early fall 2018.

But there would be space for a Pack 'N Play (sometimes people say "crib" but mean PnP...not sure which one OP meant). There is enough space where the connecting room door would be (or is....assuming you don't need to use that door).

Another thought...is your 2 YO going to fit in a pack n play? My son is 19 months. We rented a full size crib at Disney last month when we were there. We are looking at going on a 3 night trip next month to visit some family out of state. We are planning on taking the pack n play but he is really pushing it size wise (a little over 30 lbs, 33.25 inches). When we go to Disney next year, we are planning on getting inflatable bed rails or pool noodles to put in a big bed for him. I can't think there's any way he will fit in a pnp beyond the trip next month. Just something to think about!

Two things to remember:
1. Disney has bed rails you can request. This was awesome with our 2.5 yr old; we didn't have to make our own barrier with pillows,a desk chair and a bench like we do at 'regular' hotels.
2. How small does your stroller fold, if you are taking a stroller. There is a big size difference between an umbrella stroller and a fancy jogging stroller.
