Value Room Question

I am considering purchasing a small amount of resale points around 75. What I am wondering for you DVC veterans is how hard is it to book the value level room at AKL during the cheapest season. My husband and I are very flexible with our travel plans and can travel at almost any time. But I am wondering if these rooms sell out very quickly since they are the lowest point level rooms in the program.

Would it be benificial to make AKL our home resort? I am not sure if it is harder to get the room on the dates you want if you are at a different home resort.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

yes. it's beneficial to make AKV your home resort IF...IF you can book 11 months out. if you call at 11 months out, you should rarely have problems booking value rooms.

(i think there are only a dozen or so value 2BRs - some of which can be booked as either 2BRs or 1BR+a studio. someone should correct me if i'm wrong.)

value rooms are not as difficult to book as concierge rooms at AKV, but they are in demand as a very inexpensive option. if you are trying to book value rooms at 7 months out, it becomes more hit-or-miss. if you are trying to book value rooms at 5 months or fewer out, IMO you probably are not a good candidate for DVC in general.

We own at Animal Kingdom and love the value rooms, I have never had a problem getting our rooms at 11months. Buy where you want to stay.
