Value Resorts and Inside Staterooms? Bah Humbug! 30 days of Disney fun! 02/10 Day 30

Hey, I'm subbings:surfweb: 30 Days in Disney sounds like so much fun I can't wait to here more.

:cheer2: WELCOME :cheer2:

Glad you joined! There is nothing better to kill time before a trip than a chat with friends about my favourite subject - DISNEY! :cool1:

Let’s start with the fun part …….. planning the trip day by day.

Now Disney has a habit of changing their park hours, so this itinerary may change ………… again and again!

:cloud9: PLANS DAY 1 - 3 :cloud9:

Day 1
Saturday, August 14

Leave our home town at 11am and fly to Frankfurt for a stopover and on to Orlando where we will arrive at 6.40pm. :goodvibes

Next step will be the immigration, which can take quite a while – fun after a long day on a plane!
Once we are officially allowed into the country we will march down to the rental car desks and hand in our vouchers.
After picking up our rental car across the street we will then say :woohoo: and get started on our drive to Old Key West.

Summer060446.jpg

Hope checking in will be easy and quick as we still need to go and pick up some dinner.
Dinner will hopefully be either Wolfgang Puck’s Express or Earl of Sandwich.

IMG_4146.jpg

Guess we will pay the Hess gas station across the street from Downtown Disney a visit for drinks too!
And after dinner we will be done and it will be time for bed!

Day 2
Sunday, August 15

Guess we won’t be able to sleep in, since our body clocks will still be 6 hours ahead, so we have a breakfast ADR at Olivia’s.

IMG_4801.jpg

After that we will drive to Publix and pick up some provisions to stock our “walk in” fridge. Ours here in Austria are about half the size, so this is a special treat for us!
Once grocery shopping is done we will drive to Epcot, whip out our APs and head into the park. Guess we will pick up a FP :thumbsup2 for a ride before we head into Mouse Gear (can you tell that I am a big shopper?).
Lunch will be somewhere in World Showcase (would love to do Kringla Bakery as they have some easy to share stuff and maybe the Liberty Inn).

IMG_3644.jpg

In the early afternoon we plan to return to Old Key West and maybe spend a snack credit on a Mickey bar or one of these .....

IMG_8224.jpg

It will be time to relax and maybe take a nap before we head over to the Contemporary Resort for dinner at The Wave. After that we will head over to the Magic Kingdom to watch Wishes and enjoy the Evening Extra Magic Hours until 1am.

Day 3
Monday, August 16

Guess we will sleep in that day IF we made it until 1am the day before.
By 11am we will make our way over to Downtown Disney to have lunch at Wolfgang Puck’s Express. :woohoo:

IMG_3718.jpg

Now those of you who know me from the restaurant boards know that I have kind of an addiction to WPE. If it was possible I would move in there – I just LOVE their food and so does Tom. Can’t wait for that first taste of Crème Brulee!

IMG_3719.jpg

Once we are stuffed to the gills we will stroll through all the shops at Downtown Disney and pick up a sample at Ghirardelli’s.
And when we are finally done window shopping we will go back to our villa and enjoy some drinks on the balcony/patio before we drive over to Animal Kingdom for Evening Extra Magic Hours.

IMG_7844.jpg

Dinner that evening will be at Artist’s Point at the Wilderness Lodge.
Guess we will finish off the evening by sitting out on the balcony (and that’s what it is going to be called for the rest of the planning) and enjoying some adult drinks.

More coming SOON!! :flower3:

Oooh sounds wonderful :)

Breakfast at Olivias looks and sounds good and gotta get your WPE in there ASAP ;)

That Wishes pic is lovely, such a great shot :)

Looking forward to more :teeth:

Did you check Olivia's menu on the WDW website - they have changed it a bit and I told Tom that I definitely want the strawberries and cream - I have already made my mind up! :lmao: You need a bit of decadence to start off your trip ;)

I KNEW someone (preferrably you!) would get a big kick out of my WPE addiction! :rotfl2: Can't be so close and NOT go there!

:woohoo: :cheer2: :dance3: I just paid off the first 12 nights at OKW!!!!!!!! Another step closer to our trip!!!!!!!! :dance3: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Hi, Karin. Will catch up with your plans later, just wanted to say that I hope you enjoy your days off. We just had our spring break the week before last and I got to spend some time relaxing and a lot of time playing with my son. It has suddenly become summer here and the weekend has been beautiful! Now I'm just trying to tear myself away from the computer and get myself ready for another week of teaching.

Just looked at the breakfast menu and there is some yummy sounding stuff on there :teeth: Strawberries & Cream for breakfast does sound rather decadent and why not, you're at Disney after all ;)

Congrats on paying off the first 12 nights :yay: Always a great feeling when you pay it off right :)

sorry if im a little late in joining but your trip sounds amazing!!! Thirty whole days? Jealous...
Looking forward to hearing more about your (30 day!!!) trip :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I have to finally quit lurking and post a reply to you! I caught your dining reports from another thread and have read them all in the past week. They're great; I love all of the photos. :thumbsup2
A group of 11 of us are staying for a week at BLT in August. My boyfriend and I are going down a day early (arriving on the 14th, just like you) and we are now convinced that we have to fit in a WPE breakfast. We've been for dinner and liked it well enough, but those breakfasts look phenomenal. We owe you one for "suggesting" it to us

Hi Karin, got all excited for a moment because I thought we'd be at Cali Grill when you're at the Wave...then checked my ADR planner and see we are there on the Sat 14th, but you're Waving on the 15th.:rolleyes1..

by which time we'll be headed for Clearwater:rolleyes:

will keep a close eye on your plans to see if we overlap anywhere...we leave on the 23rd:cool1:

can I ask what you do with all your Disney tics if you have AP's? we tend to upgrade ours to non expiry....

Anyhow, the good news is that we're on the verge of booking the Dream for Aug 11 though so we will hopefully get to sip cocktails with you :goodvibes. And I love your Fish Extender!

HHave a fab Bank Holiday weekend, looking forward to more...

Hey Karin, I'm joining in! Eager to find out the rest of your itinirary to see if WE overlap on any of those days!! Would be great for a mini Dismeet if we cross paths :thumbsup2

I'm here, I'm here. I know...I'm late (it's that age thing again ;) ). I promise after cooking dinner and making Andy brownies for work tomorrow, I will be reading and probably drooling too. :thumbsup2

I'm here too!! I'll never go on a cruise so reading about someone else's is perfect!

Off to catch up! :goodvibes

How wonderful for you that you got to relax and spend lots of time with your little one during spring break.
May is such a wonderful month for pupils and teachers here, lots of days off. We still have "calendar holidays". (like some holidays fall on a Thursday in May and we usually have Friday off as well.) Actually there will only be 10 (!!) school days for me in May and I work full time.
But I guess I have to get back to do some work tomorrow - I have a pile of test books that are blinking at me! ;) :lmao:

Olivia's is such a relaxed restaurant and the food is SO yummy! And I cannot wait for those strawberries and cream for breakfast, what a start to our vacation!
Thanks for sharing my excitement about paying off another part of our trip. I need to pay everything off with one credit card, as it is the one that gives me airmiles, so I need to spread payments out a bit!
But there is not much more left to pay off. I want to pre-purchase the Photopass CD, now that they have a discount on it again and the last leg of the trip (9 nights OKW and FD upgraded to DxDDP) is all that is left to pay off and then we are all set! :woohoo:

Love your plans. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the payoff. Nice feeling, isn't it? :woohoo:

Paying off parts of our trip is the best feeling ever! With having a few parts for our "long" trip it's easy to stretch the feeling! ;) :lmao:
More plans coming soon!

sorry if im a little late in joining but your trip sounds amazing!!! Thirty whole days? Jealous...

and :woohoo: for coming out of lurkdome! ;)
Thanks for reading my dining reviews ......... I LOVE doing them, this pre trip reporting is all new to me! But I am trying my best!

:thumbsup2 for your idea of having a WPE breakfast! The food there is just so yummy! I am craving some now! :rotfl:

Joining in. Followed you over from the food reviews. We'll be there the same time as you (Aug 13-28), so it'll be fun to see your plans as well.

That's a shame that we will miss each other at the Contemporary Resort by one day! :sad2: But I am sure with so many of us being there at the same time we could organize a mini DISmeet. What do you think?

As for the tickets we hold - we hold A WHOLE LOT! We intend to use one set of this year's tickets (which we will need to upgrade to non expiry :scared1:) in February and use another set to get a new AP, but I hope to use up some of the tickets we still hold next summer.
We have 5 day tickets which Disney was friendly enough to exchanged for us when we found out that UK tickets do expire after having asked 3 times if they would!!! We then went past the expiry date but Disney exchanged them anyway! Gotta love a company like that! :cloud9:
3 sets of 7 day tickets (UK)
3 sets of 1 day tickets (FD)
and 1 set of 2 day tickets (left overs from a 4 day ticket) from the last century :rotfl: yip, we bought them in 1999 and they are still good!
So I guess we won't renew our APs next summer and HOPE for a good room only discount to use up some of our tickets!

Is August 11 for the Dream a typo? I hope so, as we are going to sail on the Dream from August 21 - 29 (back2back). We hope to get the discounted offer for both cruises as we have 2 cruises this year too.

Hey Karin, I'm joining in! Eager to find out the rest of your itinirary to see if WE overlap on any of those days!! Would be great for a mini Dismeet if we cross paths :thumbsup2

:cheer2: Welcome :cheer2:

Yes, I think a Dismeet is on the Horizon! I will be posting more of my "itinerary" soon so we can find out if any of our days overlap!

I'm here, I'm here. I know...I'm late (it's that age thing again ;) ). I promise after cooking dinner and making Andy brownies for work tomorrow, I will be reading and probably drooling too. :thumbsup2

:woohoo: Kathy, you are here!!! :yay: :cheer2:
What's for dinner today .... and brownie sounds yummy too! I am on a Disney diet ....... shucks, I wish I had a Disney brownie right now - no calories in them! ;)

I'm joining in. I just love your reviews, I couldn't miss your PTR!!!

:cheer2: Welcome! :cheer2:
I so enjoyed your dining review too! :goodvibes It's so good to see so many familiar "faces" round here!

I'm here too!! I'll never go on a cruise so reading about someone else's is perfect!

Off to catch up! :goodvibes

:cheer2: Welcome! :cheer2:
Yeah, you found me!
Never say never to a Disney cruise! :lmao: Last summer we were sure this would be a once in a lifetime experience for us and we rebooked while we were still on board. :rotfl: Needless to say that cruise got changed a few times as well! :thumbsup2

:cheer2: Welcome! :cheer2:

Thanks for joining us here! It's fun to see HOW many of us will be there at the same time.
Let me know if any of our days overlap or if we have ADRs at the same places .......... I am a nosey person! Sorry! ;) :goodvibes

News of the day!!!!

We got mail from the DCL today! Now that I have paid off the cruise they can't wait that we sail with them! :lmao: :lmao:

I just love the fact that we get all sorts of mail this year since we don't use a Travel Agent this year. I was pretty unhappy with the TA we used last year because when she found out that I wasn't handing over the rest of my reservations to her, she pretty much dropped all communication :scared1: and I had to fight for my welcome booklet from DCL. This year I did it all by myself and get tons of stuff from DCL! :woohoo:
