Value Resorts and Inside Staterooms? Bah Humbug! 30 days of Disney fun! 02/10 Day 30

I love those Stitch pictures! That's so awesome! It's too bad not too many people like him over here. I just love him so much.

Ooops, I meant the 10% discount. I heard they were taking away the discount you can get in some stores.

It would really suck if they took the perks away from the AP. Doesn't seem like much of a point without all those added bonuses

Now that I think of it, yes, you are right, Stitch IS very popular in DLRP! But then he is so very cute! :goodvibes It's really fun to watch him interact with the kids, they all seem to love him!

The AP merchandise discount is good to have, but the AP pays for itself in park entries! And I hope they keep the room discounts, which make an AP really good value!

Hi, Karin! I am officially done..at least for the next week and a half! :rotfl: Must mean you're that much closer, too!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Too cute.

Loved the pictures of Vienna. It looks beautiful. Hope you are having a good weekend!

I can't believe that the first week of your school holiday is already over! :scared1: Enjoy the rest of it, before you have to go back to teach at the Summer Academy!

Thank you for your kind words on little George!

I am really looking forward to our short visit to Vienna, it's a beautiful town full of history, sights and good food! ;)
I have made an itinerary for our class trip and am really hoping I can get some things worked out once we are there. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on George! party:He's adorable! Help raise him well,Karin, make him a disney lover! :rotfl:

Yay you got starbucks! :rotfl2: sorry I just had to bring it up, i love starbucks!

Oh yeah, and I've gone on DCL too. Forgot to mention that. It's deffinetly a great experiance!

Anyway, Im soo becoming your cat sitters (even though i'm allergic ) when your current ones stop. :lmao:

I loved all the pictures, especially the ones in the balloon. Great view!

They really should put more stitch stuff in at WDW and DL. The only thing they really have is stitch's great escape, which I refuse to ride after an incredibly traumatizing experiance on Alien Encounter (what was there before) when I was 6. I've heard either Tokyo Disney or Hong Kong Disney is almost more stitch than Mickey, but I'm not sure which it is.

Waiting for more... :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thank you for the kind words on little George! We hope to give him the "Disney bug" ;)!

Tom and I just love Starbuck's, but there is none here in our area, so it is such a special treat when we get to one!

I hated Alien Encounter, when it was still that! And we have only been to Stitch's Great Escape once. That is NOT my kind of a fun ride! :lmao: But Stitch Live on the other hand is SO much fun!

Updates coming soon - school is just a little hectic at the moment! :rotfl2:

Karin, I was stunned by how long you all are in school! The kids must be so ready for the end about now...and teachers too! I was Librarian and After School Director at a Catholic School and we were soooo ready by our last day, which was the 1st week of June. Glad you will have a nice long break and such a wonderful trip!!

I've been very fortunate to visit Europe several times, but it is not as easy to include Austria and Germany. I am seriously considering joining a Pilgrimage in 2012 which will visit only Austria and Germany - fingers crossed! ::yes::

Take your time...we'll all be here when you've time to get back to the PTR ...and more o pics!! :teeth:

Hi Karin

Just caught up. Congratulations on the new addition to the family :goodvibes

Love the latest update from DLR, wonderful pictures as always. We haven't been there for such a long time and I am really considering looking into a trip.

I think I may have to do a little browsing during my lunch break :surfweb:

Linda

Hi Linda!

Thanks for the kind words for little George!

You NEED to consider a trip to DLRP in the near future! Even though it is not WDW, it is still so much fun! There are always some good deals on the UK site! ;)
So much has changed there, especially in the Studios part and the new Toy Story part seems to be quite fun.

They are going to change the design on the balloon? V cool :teeth:

I am glad there is someone else that loves Stitch as much as we (DF and I) do. He's got such a bad rep, but he's not all that bad.

We should start a Stitch Appreciation Thread see how many of us are really out there

Karin I love the Stitch pictures, I love that he is popular in Paris and this is just AWESOME!!!

IMG_6274.jpg

Can I join your Stitch Appreciation Thread PLEASE? Guess who loves Stitch as much as you do? :rotfl2:

And guess in whose house the one in the picture resides? :rotfl:

Congrats on the new addition to your family. He is beautiful.

And, OMG, can I come to Vienna with you???????:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Thank you for your kind words on baby George! It's been a long time since we had a newborn in our family, so he is extra special to us all!

And, I'll gladly take you to Vienna with me, if you promise to look after my class for me! :rotfl2: They are really nice :rolleyes1 (most of the time!)

Upper Austria belongs to the parts of Austria that get off school the latest. Some of the parts are already on holiday, but we still have a week to go! Good thing is we go back to school the latest as well! ;)
But I can't complain really, we get so much time off during the school year that this late start into our summer vacation is quite okay.

Where in Europe have you already been to? You visited several times? Wow! You must like it here! ;)
I hope you get to come and visit Austria and Germany in 2012. Let me know if you come to our area (Upper Austria) too - it is very beautiful here! We just had our full day hiking excursion at school last Thursday and we went up one hill and my friend and I stood in awe and admired the view. So wonderful to look over those many rolling hills! :)

I hope to get another update up, either tonight, (but it is already past 10pm here) or early tomorrow morning. We'll see! ;)

DLRP - Day 2 continued

Once we had landed again, we went over to the shops and did lots of shopping. It’s so easy to shop big time if you get a 20% discount! Now that we had our hands full with shopping bags we went to the parking lot to put all of our treasures into our car.

IMG_5017.jpg

It’s quite a hike out there and we took our time to get to the car and then to get back to the park.

We went to Disneyland Park, and it was still packed, so after a stroll through the shops we walked towards Discoveryland.

It was SO hot that day and we were looking for something nice and relaxing to do, but the line for the Disney Railroad was 90 minutes long, Space Mountain was more than 2 hours and we did not even check for Star Tours.
We used the shortcut to Fantasyland in hopes of doing Small World, but even that had a LONG line.

Both of us were thirsty again, so we headed towards the Pizzeria Bella Notte for some Coke and a nice air conditioned seat.

While we sat there we decided that there was no reason to stay until 10pm as it was so crowded. After we had finished our drinks we stayed in the park for some more time.

Before we walked over to Adventureland and Frontierland we were lucky enough to get on the SnowWhite Ride.

By 8pm we went back to the car.

We arrived back at our villa at around 8.30 and had a late dinner from all the things still left in the fridge. I packed our bags and we were off to bed early.

Great pictures :thumbsup

It's such a shame that everything was so busy, but thumbs up for getting on the Snow White ride :thumbsup2

Oooh, that pizzaria had the guy from Fantasia! And I love the ceiling. Very cool.

Wow...shopping.....I would like a 20% discount for disney stores too. I would need to bring 2 extra suitcases with the stuff I could buy :p

I love the pizzaria and Snow White, they have incredible detail!!!

I saw planet Hollywood in the background of one of your pictures too!!! I never knew that DLRP had a globe shaped one too. That was a good restaraunt... :rotfl:

I'll join the Stitch thread!! I love, love, love him!!!

This might sound silly, but I do want to eventually make it to Disneyland Paris. Will we have any idea of what is going on? We don't speak French, at all. I took classes in high school, but it is LONG gone!

Love the entryway to Snow White -- absolutely beautiful. Do I get banned from your thread since I am definitely NOT a Stitch fan? ;)

I'm sure you are counting the days until school is out. We are at 75 days until Florida. I cannot wait.

Looks like I will defo have to start a Stitch Appreciation Thread :teeth:

Lol Kathy, I am sure you will be fine, as long as you don't say mean things about him

Someone should deffinetly start a Stitch Appreciation thread, I'm sure a lot of people would join!!! Didn't they use to have a stitch jumping emoticon? I was just about to put it up but I can't find it :confused3

I promise you I will not say anything mean about him (I just try not to talk or think about him lol).

Hi Karin, I'm back again, and I've just spent the last hour catching up, I'm so enjoying your PTR!

Firstly, huge congratulations to the family on the arrival of George, what a cutie:)

Second, I think I've timed this to coincide to your 9 week vacation, so YAY for that:yay:

Third, DLRP:).

Well, those Mickey pizzas look so cool, but I guess they taste vile, huh?;)

but the baguettes, cheese, salads, pastries, my oh my, now we're talking:love: I'd much rather eat that, any day of the week.

Now I have a confession to make, we have never been to the DLRP, despite it being so close. I know it's our European castle, but the weather etc doesn't cut it...although it looks like you were so very lucky on that front.

Looking forward to reading more, farewell from a heatwave London:hippie:

Fingers crossed for 2012 - will definitely let you know if we make it to your lovely area! :)
Yes, I love Europe and began visiting in 1988; have now visited Britain a few times, Portugal a few times (LOVE Portugal), Italy 3 times, Austria once so far, France, but not Paris, Holland and Belgium and Spain. Germany only for flight connections, but hope to change that...also want to visit Poland.
We visit without a tour group except my first trip to Portugal in 1988 was a pilgrimage as was the first trip to Italy in 2003 - then we went back on our own.:)

Today was your last day of school!!! :dance3:Hope it was fun..now you are free for the summer!! :woohoo:

I AM BACK!!!!!!!!

:woohoo: :dance3: As of yesterday I am officially on holiday for the next 63 days!! :dance3: :woohoo:

Before I answer all your replies I better fill you in on what has been happening here those last few days of our school year!

July 1st was our hiking/excursion day. My class chose to go to a "zoo" which included a coach ride to a small village and the "hike" to the zoo. There was a shortcut, but since hiking was required Tom and I had checked out a far longer way to get there! ;)

Unfortunately July 1st was a blazing hot day, so after about 15 minutes we had our first break! :lmao:

IMG_5045.jpg

Some of my girls

IMG_5048.jpg

and the rest of my girls.

IMG_5046.jpg

And some of my boys

IMG_5049.jpg

and the rest of my boys! :goodvibes ;)

The walk took us uphill for quite a few parts, but we were brave!

IMG_5052.jpg

IMG_5060.jpg

IMG_5053.jpg

And after some time (of even carrying girls uphill! :rotfl2:) it was time for another stop.

Once we had reached the zoo it was time for a relaxing lunch and some cool drinks. Having learned from my trips to WDW, I had frozen a bottle of water and was the envy of about everyone, as I still had a cold drink! :rotfl:

Then it was time to go and visit the animals!

IMG_5078.jpg

IMG_5070.jpg

IMG_5087.jpg

That's NOT all the animals :lmao:, just the ones I want to bore you with!

And then it was time for some fun!

IMG_5080.jpg

IMG_5082.jpg

They never seem to be too old to explore a playground.

Once we had seen and done it all we hiked back a far shorter route and waited for the bus to pick us up again. There was enough time for us to have some ice-cream and then we went back to our school.

Fun day!!:thumbsup2

Karin, it looks like such a fun day with your kids. And you are NEVER too old for a playground, just like you are NEVER too old for Disney World. So glad you now have your 60+ days of holiday. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
