Value Resorts and Inside Staterooms? Bah Humbug! 30 days of Disney fun! 02/10 Day 30

DLRP - Day 2 continued

After the show the characters stayed around to sign autographs but we made our way over to the Tower of Terror to use our Fast Passes. I never get the masses of people who get themselves a Fast Pass, only to walk over to the entrance and wait there. Well, we tried to move past them, as our Fast Passes were already good to go. Once we were past the check in there was absolutely NO line and we were led into the library right away.
A short wait inside the boiler room and we got front row seats. The Cast Members have to give their spiel in both French and English and it was fun to actually be able to recite it with him. The ride was fun but short and we walked to the tip board to find out if there was something to ride, but the wait times were long and we decided to just head out of the park and over to the Disneyland Park again. On our way out we walked through the shops and picked up quite a few things. Since we now had quite a few bags to carry we decided to do some more shopping at the Disney Village.

So we went over to the Village and hit Starbuck’s first!

We both had a Caramel Frappucchino

and a bottle of water to go with it. Unfortunately the water was not very cold, and we had to ask for a cup of ice to go with it. We really enjoyed our frozen drinks and the AC and sat for a while to people watch and to watch the steady stream of customers at Starbucks. While we sat there we decided that since the park was packed why not try and find out if we could get on the Panoramagique Balloon.

So while walking over to the balloon we found out that Earl of Sandwich will be coming to the Disney Village next year! YEAH!!

The Balloon was up and we got our tickets to get on the next ride.

The weather was perfect, even though the wind picked up a little but the view was just wonderful. We were in a good position to have a view over the Disneyland Park, the Studios and the Village and really enjoyed the short flight and experienced a rather bumpy ride down.

Once we had landed again, we went over to the shops and did lots of shopping. It’s so easy to shop big time if you get a 20% discount!

Now that we had our hands full with shopping bags we went to the parking lot to put all of our treasures into our car. It’s quite a hike out there and we took our time to get to the car and then to get back to the park.

Congrats on the new edition to your extended family - what a cutie!!!

I LOVE Vienna - have a great time!

I agree, stop posting all these pictures because we are all gaining weight looking at them... totally kidding, don't you DARE stop posting! :rotfl:

Thank you! Charles, the dad, sent a lot more cute photos of the little guy and we all think he is just adoreable! (Can you see that it's been a long time till we had a newborn? :lmao:)

You are right, Vienna is nice - lots of history and wonderfully preserved buildings!

Me stop posting photos of food? Who are you talking to? ;) :rotfl: Food is my middle name! :rotfl2:

I agree with you; DH definitely needs to take me to the Stitch statues!

What exactly is Stitch Live? I'm so jealous that there is so much Stitch stuff going on there; I guess he is a lot more popular there??

That Ariel from the parade is SO pretty; the ones I've seen at WDW, well, not so much.

Congrats on the new family member! So very sweet!

Awww George is just gorgeous :goodvibes

Awesome that you will be visiting Vienna before you go to Disney. What a travel bee you are :)

Great update, loving all the photos and how cool that EoS is going to be opening up :teeth:

Love the balloon pics, those car parks are pretty full, not one empty space in site by the looks of it.

WELCOME George James. A new Disney lover, I am sure.

Karin, I love the photos from the balloon ride. I'm thinking since Mark is limited in what he can do this trip that maybe we will do the balloon at DTd this trip.

And what a nice trip you will take with your students. You are very lucky.

Oooh, what a cool balloon ride!

I hear that the parks are debating whether to keep the 20% discount for the WDW AP. It would suck if they took that away.

I'm subbing in! I see you on the DisMoms thread and I am looking forward to living vicariously through your adventures! No Disney for us this year:sad2:

Stitch Live is a show that is similar to Turtle Talk with Crush. Stitch appears on a screen and interacts with the audience. Now we have only been there twice but this seems to be geared a lot towards the adults as well. How else could it have happened that Stitch picked my dear brother Tom as his partner and friend from "Spaceprison" when we went the first time around. It was hilarious. Even though the base of the show seems to be the same it is always fun to see the reactions of the audience.
You would definitely LOVE it.
Stitch is a hit at Tower of Terror too!

Thanks for your comment on little George James!

It should be fun going to Vienna. We picked a small hotel for our stay and are really looking forward to it!

I am so happy EoS is coming to the Disney Village! We never make it to the one at DTD, but I am sure we will be able to pop into the one at the Village ......... hm, unless they decide that we need a Wolfgang Puck Express there too! :rotfl2:

We love doing the balloon ride! And the way it looks it will have been the last ride in THAT balloon as they are going to exchange it with one in another design! Hope that is up the next time we go!
And yes, the car park was PACKED!! I don't even want to start to think about the fact that in the future we will have to park there all the time! :scared1:

Kathy, I promise I'll do my best so that little George James will be bitten by the Disney bug! :rotfl:

We have done the balloon ride at WDW too and loved it. Unfortunately it is a short ride, but I would do it again in a heartbeat - maybe do a back2back some time! :lmao:
You should definitely try it if you haven't done it before.
Tom and I will try to fly the balloon in the evening during our summer visit. That should be fun too!

Oooh, what a cool balloon ride!

We LOVE the balloon rides! We have been on the French one a few times, but only once got the chance to go on it in WDW! Hopefully soon we can do that again.

WDW APs get a 20% discount????????? Where????????? We have been passholders for a few years now, but the only discount I know of is the 10% shopping one in DTD and it is good for a few restaurants (10% too, if I am correct). Are you talking about the premium AP?
And I hope they don't give the French any ideas :lmao: they have taken away some of the perks already - I want to keep my discount!!

I'm subbing in! I see you on the DisMoms thread and I am looking forward to living vicariously through your adventures! No Disney for us this year:sad2:

:flower3: Welcome! :flower3:

I just LOVE new readers and thanks for coming over from the DisMoms thread!
It's so sad that you can't make it to Disney this year, but I saw that you are going to sail on the Wonder in about 10 months! So there is something to look forward too ......... and I envy you to sail on the Wonder. We fell in love with it last summer and I can't wait to go back this summer. Hoping to rebook while on board for 2011! ;)

I love those Stitch pictures! That's so awesome! It's too bad not too many people like him over here. I just love him so much.

Ooops, I meant the 10% discount. I heard they were taking away the discount you can get in some stores.

It would really suck if they took the perks away from the AP. Doesn't seem like much of a point without all those added bonuses

Hi, Karin! I am officially done..at least for the next week and a half! :rotfl: Must mean you're that much closer, too!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Too cute.

Loved the pictures of Vienna. It looks beautiful. Hope you are having a good weekend!

Congratulations on George! party:He's adorable! Help raise him well,Karin, make him a disney lover! :rotfl:

Yay you got starbucks! :rotfl2: sorry I just had to bring it up, i love starbucks!

Oh yeah, and I've gone on DCL too. Forgot to mention that. It's deffinetly a great experiance!

Anyway, Im soo becoming your cat sitters (even though i'm allergic ) when your current ones stop. :lmao:

I loved all the pictures, especially the ones in the balloon. Great view!

They really should put more stitch stuff in at WDW and DL. The only thing they really have is stitch's great escape, which I refuse to ride after an incredibly traumatizing experiance on Alien Encounter (what was there before) when I was 6. I've heard either Tokyo Disney or Hong Kong Disney is almost more stitch than Mickey, but I'm not sure which it is.

Waiting for more... :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi Karin

Just caught up. Congratulations on the new addition to the family :goodvibes

Love the latest update from DLR, wonderful pictures as always. We haven't been there for such a long time and I am really considering looking into a trip.

I think I may have to do a little browsing during my lunch break :surfweb:

They are going to change the design on the balloon? V cool :teeth:

I love those Stitch pictures! That's so awesome! It's too bad not too many people like him over here. I just love him so much.

I am glad there is someone else that loves Stitch as much as we (DF and I) do. He's got such a bad rep, but he's not all that bad.

We should start a Stitch Appreciation Thread see how many of us are really out there

Karin I love the Stitch pictures, I love that he is popular in Paris and this is just AWESOME!!!

I look forward to more. Congrats on your new family member :yay:

 Karin (& Tom)!

Have been wanting to join your PTR for awhile and this morning finally had time to read from page one: love your kitty, food pics (birthday was fabulous, Happy Belated Birthday!) and pics of Paris DL are incredible (hope to visit some day), little George is precious.... and I absolutely LOVE Austria! We had a very short visit many years ago. Two places I want to visit in my life are Austria again and Germany for more than a connection in Frankfurt! :)

Looking forward to travelling along for your PTR and on-board for the TR as well. :goodvibes

I'm here too! I just read the cheat links, so I'm sure I'm not completely in the swing of things, but hope to be from now on!

I hope to update on a more regular basis once school ends at the end of this coming week!

:flower3: Hi! How wonderful to have you here!

I know you from Kathy's (Katmark's) pre-trip report! So nice to have so many people joining in!

I am blown away by the fact that you read through the whole thing! :goodvibes
There are a few more DLRP photos which I still have to post, but as I said before - one more week of school and then I can be here to fill you all in on all the details and changes I have already made again. ;) :lmao:

I hope you get to come to Europe soon - there are a lot of beautiful countries here, not just Austria and Germany, but I feel honored that you want to come and visit MY country! :goodvibes

I'm here too! I just read the cheat links, so I'm sure I'm not completely in the swing of things, but hope to be from now on!

:flower3: Hi Jen! It's wonderful to have you here!

I am glad you used the cheat links - that's what they are there for! ;) I have not even finished my trip planning yet, but I can tell you that I have already made lots of changes to them! :lmao:
I still need to finish my DLRP trip report before I'll be able to finish the planning part, but I wasn't able to get on here a lot these last few weeks and I cannot wait for school to end, so I can enjoy some serious DIS time again! :goodvibes
