Value resort advice please

This upcoming January my husband and I are headed back to WDW (our last trip was just in Jan of 2004 - convincing him it wasn't too early to go back was hard!)
We stayed at all star music this past January, and it was nice (both enjoyed being on-site). I was wondering if you could offer an idea about where to stay this coming January please.
He wants to go back to ASMu (its cheap and our only on-site experience) but I was thinking about trying Pop Century (even though we are going during a value season, I don't think I can fit a moderate into our budget!)

I'd try Pop Century. I like to try a different resort each time I go. Disney has so many choices, you might as well take advantage of them.

Hubby and I love the value resorts for trips..we have stayed at the All Stars more times than we can count. We always stay at the sports...1st one in on the right..very convenient. We love the food, and they have the best bartenders there.

We tried pop this past spring. We had the car..and people didn't lie..parking is a nightmare. The rooms are great..just like AS's..food at food court..we didn't find it quite as good (dinner wise) as over at the AS resort. At all stars we love the made to order pastas, the nachos and the wonderful homemade type dinners...with the yukon gold mashed potatoes and the wonderful green beans with bacon. We slept really good in the beds at Pop, they were very comfy. Lobby is much nicer, great things to look at. The landscaping is much nicer at Pop, layout still very convenient..easy to get to everywhere with a very short walk..unless you don't find parking..lol.

Either one you choose would be great..I can say..when we left..the construction guys at Pop were working very hard to open new parking lots..they even opened an extra while we were there as it was finished..not enough though...people still had to park in the not ready yet new parking lots at night.

We had a king bed..lake view..which was also very nice at POP.

You will have a good time either way....oh..and Pop..does have a very nice inside bar..as well as the pool bar..a nice plus also. Wish all stars would add one of those.
