Value or Moderate??

We're thinking about another trip next Jan, and I'm in the early planning stages. Compare for me if you will, value vs. moderate resorts. Is the cost savings of a value worth it, or is it worth the extra $$ spent for the moderate??? We have 4 children (10, 8, 6, 4), so obviously I'm thinking kid/family friendly opinions.

Since you have 4 children you will need two rooms, or one of the family suites at the Allstar Music.
If it were me I would go for a value resort, the POP or one of the Allstar Sports are great for families. The choices at the food courts are great and the themeings are fun.
The moderates have slides at the pools, but since you are going in January you may not get much pool time in.
The thing I do like about the moderates is that there are small fridges in the room as well as a coffee maker. It makes it easier for me to just grab something in the room for breakfast and then go.

If you're planning to spend most of your visit at the parks, go with the value resort.

I the values. They are just so much fun!!! WDW is suppose to be fun so I stay at the values quite often. It has nothing to do with money. We've stayed at POP nine times. Our most recent visit in a value was at ASMu in December. Then we stayed at POR in January, and will be staying at ASMo in April. Just for comparison, last summer was BC.

When I recommend a resort for a friend with children, I always tell them to stay at a value. POR is our favorite moderate and DH's favorite resort of them all, but it's just not decorated as fun as the values. The values are just made for children, or atleast children-at-heart!!

Values: no pool slide or coffee maker, no hot tub
Moderates: still only a full size bed, but coffee makers, refrigerators, pool slide, and a HOT TUB!!!

WE LOVE the Value resorts, no slides, no coffee makers, who cares??? We bring our own coffee maker, anyways!
We are there for the parks, and the pools at the values are nice, especially the kids spray pool at POP!
