valet parking ?

We're headed to the BCV soon. DH and I (members) are using points for a 2BR, and have invited my brother and his family to join us as our guests. We're both going to have cars.

Will he be allowed to get the free valet parking as well, or is it just one car per unit? Is it "tacky" or do you all think it's OK to do?

My inlaws received the free valet parking when they stayed with us earlier this month at both VWL and BCV. They were also given a parking permit that said member.

There is free valet parking for DVC members??? I didn't know this, I am new to DVC, but I don't recall any info in the member guidebook. Do you just pull up and that's that? What do you tip usually???

Yes, DVC members get free valet parking, you will get a parking pass at the front desk, but you can also tell the guys when you pull up that you are a DVC member checking in. We tip $2 when they take the keys, and again when they bring us the car.

The free valet service is available only at DVC resorts. There is still a $6 per day charge for other resorts.

In addition valet parking is complimentary to handicapped/disabled guests. I usually just show my handicapped parking tag. I do tip coming & going.

We found out on our last trip you can also get free valet parking at non DVC hotels. All you have to do is ask the valet desk at the DVC resort for a valet parking pass for that day. You hang it from your rear view mirror and you get free parking at the other hotels. These are only good for the current day, so you have to get a new one each day that you need it. It was actually one of the valet guys at the GF that told me this.

Also, I call from my room on my way out. This way the car is waiting for me instead of me waiting for it. (This was also a suggestion by the BW valet).

LeiLani, it is my understanding that a DVC member would still pay the $6 fee for valet parking at WDW non-DVC resorts. the $6 is good for all day - sort of like resort hopping.

I think Judith is correct. If you read the DVC website, it says we only receive free parking at DVC resorts. Think the valet made a mistake.

This is correct, but if you are staying at a DVC resort all you have to do is ask the valet desk for a tag that will allow you to valet park for free at other disney resorts. We did this several times after the valet guy at the GF told me about this. Everytime we were leaving the BWV and heading to a non-DVC resort I would ask for one of these hang tags, and we would valet park at the other resort without having to pay the $6 fee.

At VB there is underground parking beneath the Inn and the Villas. Then you just get in the elevator and it takes you to your floor.

At HH there is parking in front of the buildings(Villas) that you are in. Never stayed in the Inn part at HH, so don't know about valet there.
