We have been to WDW Resorts and valet parking for handicapped persons is free. Is the same true for DLH or do you still have to self-park and pay?

We only parked at the Grand Californian but here is some info about that. You can self park in the handicapped area if you can walk a short distance as it is VERY close to the entrance. The hc lot is to the left directly after the canopy at the entrance where you would be dropped off. This is the closest hc parking at a resort I've ever seen (I am a frequent WDW resort guest).

This is, however, also the weirdest hc parking I have seen. There are two ways to get out of the hc parking area: (1) a short flight of steps (!!!) with a rail to hold onto, and then a step down from curb with nothing to hold onto. For wc users, you have to loop thru the small hc lot and then cross (no marked crossing) into the convention area to get a curb cut. For non-wc users, this is bad bc wcs are below the eye level of most cars and it is thus not very safe for us.

Here is a link to my trip report to DL using an ECV. Things did not always go perfectly smoothly for me, and perhaps it will help you enjoy your trip a bit more.
