We have a timeshare and are exchanging for a condo in June.

We have stayed several times at Vacation Village and really like it. It is easily accessible to WDW and restaurants etc.

We also have Silver Lakes Resorts as an option and have heard on here some rave reviews. Also knowing it is so close to WDW makes it attractive.

Has anyone stayed at both places and have a comment on which they liked better.

My dh wants to stick with what we know is a good condo, but I would like to try some new places too!

thanks

I have not been to Silver Lakes, but we tend to do the same thing you do, when we find a place we like, we stick with what we know.

We really like Vacation Village as well. SkyAuction used to use them and we would get a 1 bedroom. They no longer offer Vacation Village so we haven't used them recently.

Vacation Villa @ parkway was offer in RCI 75% off - just a 1-bedroom - but that is all I need.

for you - since you have tried VV - why not try SL? you know just for a change.

now problems - the restuarants are a little further away - so no walking. Well you could but a longer walk - and you have to cross over black lake road.

both are fairly close to a Publix. SL is actually closer to a Walgreen than VV.

We have never stayed at VV but stayed at SL last year and loved it. We were not at the resort for long periods other that to sleep. We did use the main pool 2x which is large and the kids loved it. There were 6 of us in a 2 bedroom. Very spacious, updated decor, newly remodeled and very quiet surroundings. We wished we could have taken the master bed home. So nice to have a great night sleep. We had no problems with our villa, it was spotless. The staff was very nice and we liked that it was a gated resort.

We wanted to stay there this year again but they did not have space available for our dates :sad1:

It may not be a 5 star but well worth the price we paid.

We have stayed at both - Vacation Villages this past Feb. and Silver Lake last May. Both times were in a 2 bedroom. As far as the condo itself, we did not have a newer unit at Silver Lake, and the interior was pretty out-dated! The bathrooms were small, with small showers and older tile/paint. Bedroom size was smaller at SL as well. Living room area was nice in both condos, but the kitchen was smaller and not so 'elegant' as the one at VV. But both were clean and no issues came up at either. We had a newer building at VV, but that meant we faced construction, so it was not nice for sitting out on the balcony, but the utensils and dishware were nicer compared to SL. Pool areas were nice for both condos, and we never took advantage of condo 'doings' like crafts for the kids, ect, so I'm not sure how they were organized. I did like the location of SL, being so close to Animal Kingdom, but I didn't find VV inconvienent, in fact it probably did offer more restaurants/shopping a little closer. So I guess it depends on how much you value condo amenities, because both were fine in most aspects!
