vacation planning

My family and I are planning a trip in 2007. I was wondering can we start booking it now or should we wait untill the end of 2006 beginning of 07 to start planning? If you can help me that would be great. I have 4 children and I want to make sure that we plan it right so that everyone gets to have fun....

If it were me I would wait until it was closer to book a room. In the meantime I would start saving for that vacation. Plenty of time to think about what you want to do, see, eat, etc. Enjoy the planning.

Your kids will enjoy everything at WDW. It is great to see the parks through their eyes.

Our trip was over a year away when I first started planning, and I still haven't booked yet. I will soon though.

What I did was go to Disney's site and figure out what the prices would be, based on this year's rack rate, and start saving based on that price. I know the rates will/have increase(d) a little bit, but I'm ready for most of it, and I have time to save the rest.

I would wait to book your room. We are going in Oct. of 2005 and although I've started planning, I haven't booked our room yet and probably won't until the end of the summer. For our last trip I booked the room about 9 months in advance. You have lots of time to research each resort and decide which one you really want to stay at. Planning is half the fun!

If you book now do you think you would get a cheaper rate since prices could very well go up by then?

We already booked our room for our 2006 trip. We send some money every month so the room will be paid off before we go. The room rates are not gauranteed so you do have to pay more if the rates go up.

Thanks for all the info. If there is anything I should do to make it easier or even more fun for my husband and my self let me know. I want something that my children will remember. I have 4 chrildren so I know it will be expencive. The last time I went I was 6 months pregnaunt with my 2nd child. My husband and I spent about $2000. How much more expencive is it know then in 1996?
