vacation package promotions/discounts?

Does Universal offer vacation package promotions or discounts along the same lines that Disney does? We'll be doing a split Disney/Universal trip the week before Thanksgiving and just booked free dining at Disney, but haven't found any discounts for Universal. I do have AAA so I'll inquire about that, but just wanted to see if I should watch for a public discount to be released? Thanks!

Unless you want to stay offsite (in which case you'll get Early Entrance with the package, generally), it's usually financially better to book room-only and buy your tickets separately.

This site here shows you all 4 onsite resorts at once. Note that Cabana Bay only gets you Early Entrance, NOT unlimited Express Pass like the other 3 onsite resorts do.

Almost everyone on the DISboard would recommend getting your room reservations and tickets separately so that you can easily change room rates without penalty if a lower rate becomes available. You can find rate discounts like Stay More Save More on the UO website, as well as packages. You can get discounts thru AAA and also if you have an AP.

UO is not Disney and does not try to copy what Disney does, so you will not find the same kind of discounts there. UO does not do free dining, but does have some dining options- but as I've only once done a dining plan, I am not the person who can give you the best information on that. There is info on dining options on the UO website also.

Universal occasionally has person-specific discount codes mailed out, but like disney it is random and no way to guarantee you get one.There is a AAA discount, APH discount and there is the Stay more save more rates ,which aare for stays more than 3 nights.Thats about it.There are occasionally tickets specials, but with the new Harry potter stuff opening up, I think discounts will be slim

Thanks all! Looks like my best bet is to try to get a AAA rate and get our tickets off undercover tourist. Appreciate the help
