what are the best vacation home rentals ? we will be going around 12/01/06

Your best rates are going to come from renting direct from the owner. I would check sites like www.vrbo.com and www.orlandovillas.com to get started. Also, do a search on this forum. There are a lot of threads covering this topic.

I used www.fabvillas.com to find the villa we are renting in May. I liked it because you can do a general enquiry and it will be sent to all the homes that have availibilty for your dates. The owners will get back to you with quotes. It was much easier than weeding through all the sites and the availibility calenders for each home.

We went with another company our first year and they didn't take that good of care of it. There was major ants. Welocme homes takes very good care of their homes, they are very clean and if you need them they are always available. I find rentals from them on ebay.
Last Nov. we had a 3 bdrm house for $500. Two yrs ago a 5 bdrm for 700,everything included.

Rented a 7 bed pool home from them Dec 3-10, 2005. Loved the website! Lots of pictures, virtual tours, maps, and floorplans. Homes are well decorated and the staff is at hand 24 hours a day. When we called in a maintenance issue, they were there within 20 minutes. Definitely recommend. Check it out....All Star Vacation Homes

There are several companies that do a great job and a few that fall short, but I prefer to deal directly with the owner. We just got back this week from a BEAUTIFUL home, very close to WDW, with all the amenities we could ask for. It was bigger than we needed, 6 bedrooms, but it was priced about the same as a 3 bedroom condo.

I took my camera specifically to take pictures I could compare to the ones on the website, but didn't need to. The house is exactly as presented on the website. I suggest you check it out: www.sjsvillas.com

One tip I learned here on the DIS is to send an email to the owner and request the best price for the week(s) you want. I was very pleased with the discounts we were offered when we asked nicely. If you want the best deal on this villa ask for the DIS discount.
