Hi all-

This is a first post from a newbie, so please be patient. Heck, I haven't even signed any papers yet, or figured out when I can use some points!

I was looking around ebay and saw several people listing vacation club pins, buttons and even a couple of scrap books for sale. Are the pins something that you get with membership, or purchase at a Disney store? Just wondering.

After reading all the discussions, I am still looking forward to staying at SSR. Because I am fairly certain that they will NOT have any snow there, and that is the one thing that this person from New England is wanting to take a break from during the winters!
Thanks,

We got SSR pins from our guide when we purchased in January--the pins were in the Grand Villa on the tour and he snagged up 4!

There are some pins that can only be traded for. Like the Pluto best kept secret one.

Other things have been gifts for those that did add ons or bought through Disney.

Then there are some pins that are actually avail for purchase if you show you are a DVC member, you can get these at the major pin trading places in each park.

Hijacking here...

So to get the DVC Member only pins, you just show them hour membership card when you go to the pin station? Any specific pin stations I should look?

I'm a pin fanatic...in case you haven't guessed!

The main pin stations have them. The Emporium? at MK, under the hat at MGM, the one in Epcot on the way to the world showcase and the pin trading store at DTD.

Ask if they have any DVC pins, they should show you all that is available.

Most pin stations and gift shops that have pins will have the DVC pins in a drawer. You have to ask to see what they have and show your member card at the time of purchase. Recently Disney introduced a set of 5 pins that connect to make one picture for DVC members. There is a picture on the DVC member web sight. The first pin is already out and #2 is being introduced the first part of April. My kids sucked me into it.....but they do all the trading...DVC and cast member pins they keep.

My 13 yr. old son is a pin junkie, too. :) We started buying the a few pins of his favorite attractions each trip and he has three full lanyards now. He likes to wear them to the parks but people approach him a lot to want to trade. I told him just to show the pins and say he's a collector if he doesn't want to trade. Anyway, he got his first DVC pin at the EPCOT pin station right in front of the big dancing fountain. They had pictures of the passholder and DVC pins in a notebook by the cash register. I guess they keep the actual pins under the counter. We had to show our blue cards.
