Day 2 part 1.
We are up and about by 8am and down to breakfast at 8.35am. The Inventions restaurant is really lovely and we are lucky enough to get a table overlooking the park entrance. There are plenty of characters in the restaurant this morning. We see Minnie, Chip and Dale and Pluto. It is so lovely seeing the childrens faces when they meet the characters. There are so many delicious things to choose from. I opt for bacon, cheese and a baguette; followed by pan au chocolat.
Simon has egg, bacon, sausage and a baguette, followed by pan au chocolat as well. Around 9am we can see Mickey at the main gate welcoming visitors to the park. I could have sat there for hours, but Simon reminded me that there was the little matter of the DL Park to go into!!!
We make it into the park for around 9.30 and head through the castle into Fantasy land. We start on Pinocchio, which was walk on and then go to Snow White, which was also a short wait. Over to Peter pan, which I love, makes me go all misty!! It was onto the carousel next and then IASW. Mini Mason obviously loves this ride as much as me, as she kicked all the way through.
We had a bit of time before we could queue for Lion King tickets, so we wandered through the castle and into the dragon (which I have always managed to miss before). We queued for our Lion king tickets and then Simon braved Space Mountain on his own whilst I snacked on breakfast bars and watched the world go by. It was a lovely sunny day and it was nice to be out in the sunshine. Simon came back full of it, he really enjoyed himself. I forced him over to nautilus, which was as awful as I remembered (sorry!
) and then it was time for the Lion King show. We hadnt seen this show before, so I wasnt sure what to expect. I really enjoyed it and reminded me very much of the stage show in London. I was teary most of the way through, as I love the LK music. The set and effects were fantastic and the singers/dancers just wonderful.
We then slowly walked round to POC. There has been a few threads about this recently, whether you should go on it when pregnant, and after lots of thought I decided that I would. I couldnt imagine a trip to Disney without POC!!! In the end I probably shouldnt have, as I spent the whole time queuing and the actual ride fretting and feeling guilty!!
Oh well!! It was then time for our reservation at the Blue Lagoon. The setting is fantastic, I would love a table right next to the water next time. Simon had a prawn cocktail to start with, then I opted for the chicken curry and Simon had tuna and swordfish.
Unfortunately, the chicken was pink inside, very pink and I couldnt chance eating it. I asked for it to be cooked a little more, which apparently it couldnt and the waiter seemed to be at a loss what to do!! Luckily a kind waitress saw the harassed waiter , and myself getting redder and redder by the moment (hormones!!!) and offered to get me something else for the same price, which was very kind. I had a steak in the end which was absolutely delicious. As our meal ended Simon saw the Man United player Michael Sylvestre and was highly excited!! I think this was the highlight of his trip!! By this time it was past 3.30 so we headed up Main Street, in the dazzling sunshine
to see the Halloween parade.
Sorry, these are in parts, dont seem to be able to summon up the energy to do them all in one go!
