I tried to book the V Room for the 20th August 2012 and it's full. Does anyone have any recommendations for alternative lounges at Gatwick south terminal that are as good/better?

TIA

Assuming you are going from Gateick, I recommend the No 1 Lounge which is next door to vroom. We really like it there:thumbsup2. They have their own website do you can book online or by phone

We've always used Servisair Lounge. There's a family one and an adult only one. Never been in family one I'm afraid but its a nice lounge

I looked at their website and thought this one looks excellent. We don't have the v-room this year but the No 1 Lounge looks a really good alternative at a good price.....:thumbsup2

We usually pay the £35pp (if we're not traveling in UC) and go into the Clubhouse.

It's pretty amazing in there.

We did No.1 Lounge on our last trip and I did not care for it - much preferred Servisair.

It was quite small, and when we arrived, all of the tables and chairs were already taken, meaning we had to stand around for quite a while. But my main bugbear was the bar - you could not just go and get yourself a drink from a fridge, you had to order it and then it would get delivered to your table by the staff. Unfortunately this took about ten minutes, which is rather frustrating when you're thirsty and all you want is a Coke!

It's certainly posher and has a nicer ambience than the other lounges, but that doesn't do it for me - I want a lounge where I have a choice of where I sit down and be able to get snacks and drinks easily.

It has changed since then, they now have a fridge you can help yourself to cans and bottled water and there are more seating:thumbsup2
