V & her Nanny do Disney Our Disney Trip & no I'm not a grandma!--Update:2/26 Chap 6

Love the updates and pictures!!

The "waiting" pics taken by the photopass photographer are SOOOOO cute!!!

Now, I've got to head on over to your PTR!! I'm glad you get to take her back in July! (We're "thinking" about going bak in June..... )

Also, I'm not sure if you're saving this part until the end of your TR, but what did V's parents think about the trip? Did V tell them all about it? Did they love all your pictures? .................

Can't wait to hear more!!!!!!

Hmmm honestly, not a lot of feedback from her parents :( but I don't think they were too upset about missing it since we are going back!!!! They were happy she had fun and we talked to them while at Disney.

I thought they would be all excited to hear about what we did and favourite parts and such and I really got no feedback at all. Loads of pictures on facebook too and maybe a comment or two.... I was worried they regretted their decision to let us go; but we are going back. I was really disapointed by the lack of feedback. It made me sad because I was so excited to share with them everything we had done, and i did a bit, but they didn't really ask many questions. I don't know what they asked V outside of my presence. I missed dinner the night before we flew home, just V and her parents went so I imagine they asked her about it.

I did for christmas give them the Disney CD's including all pictures and videos (well except the ones I was in I didn't want them to see :rolleyes1 ) and photopass pics. They went to sarasota for xmas and took the CD's with them... I don't think they looked at them. They left them in sarasota for V's grandparents to look at and bring back when they drive back in the spring.

V also wasn't telling them everything we did and her favourites etc... it did take some prompting from me. She wasn't excited and talking non stop about Disney like most other kids I know would have.
Overall I was kinda sad and disapointed that they weren't more excited.... but again I don't know what went on when I wasn't there and for pretty much the full 24 hours prior to our flights home I was out of comission.

So happy to have found this TR :)

I am a 29 year old nanny myself, I have been with my current family for just shy of 4 years and look after 2 lovely girls aged 4.5 and 2.5
I would LOVE to take the girls to Disney and have even joked I would pay for them to join me on a trip to Disneyland Paris, but I don't think it's going to happen ;-)
My bosses are planning on taking them to Paris at some point but wanted to wait until the girls were 8 and 10, which I said was too old and that they should take them when the girls still believe in the magic.
Especially considering how easy it is to get to Disneyland Paris from London(just a couple of hours on the train)

Can't wait to read more about this trip and also hear about all the pre trip excitement for your July trip :)

Rienchen!!! So nice to have you on board!!!!
I LOVE my job.... (well sort of, not my current one with V in school full time and having a boy, but changes coming to that soon!!!.....) I can't wait until summer when i have V full time again.....

Honestly my bosses are insane. I don't think I would let my nanny take my kid to Disney.... Well thats because I'd want to take her :rotfl2: But really I don't know if I would let my nanny take my kid overnight for that length of time.... Hard to say until you are in that position. If she asked I'd definitely consider it. As long as it wasn't something that was particularly important to me. Now I'd definitely take the nanny with me if she wanted to go. Sure to help out a bit, but also for her to have some fun.

I agree 4.5 and 2.5 is the way to go!!! I'd do it now and again in another year two years if not before. So many people say I wouldn't take my child till they are old enough to remember, but honestly Even if they do remember They won't see it as "Special". Not like you seeing the amazement of kids who are at that age to believe in magic. It's just different when they are older.

When Cinderella blew V a kiss you would have thought she'd died and gone to heaven She was ballistic! And the Minnie Mouse Surprise.... (oh haven't told that one yet...that's on day 3!) fantastic.

I belong to an awesome nanny group, It's an online email group called World Wide Nannies, (mostly US, but some Canada, Australia and Europe too!) if something like that interests you let me know and I'll PM you the info.

Thanks for reading!

V looks adorable in her dress! :) Can't wait to read more. It makes me sad that her parents don't seem to really be involved in her Disney-filled happiness. :(

Awesome update! V looks adorable in her costume and all made up!

The CRT Cindy pic is sweet! V looked like she enjoyed the M&Gs.

I love that parade! Nice shots!:thumbsup2

Love the Mickey & Minnie photos! That is one place we've yet to visit.

The Rapunzel M&G was cute, it's too abd they took Flynn out. Kadence did get to meet & dance him in Jan and she was just over the moon!

Erin, I don't think I ever told you how much I loved V's BBB makeover, what a cutie. I can't believe there wasn't more excitement about the Disney pics...but I am SO happy V has you to make these memories with! I wish I could afford to send my brood with you, the excitement would be non-stop!

Hi there!

What a lovely TR. I can tell that you have put so much thought and planning into this trip (and we are only on day 2!) so that it is extra special for V.

You seem like such a wonderful nanny :worship: and I hope that your teaching job comes through for you. V's family is so lucky to have you! When DH and I are ready to have kids, will you be my nanny? :yay:

I am also in Ontario and know of others that graduated over the past few years who are having difficulty with teaching employment, so you are not the only one.

Looking forward to more updates!

No BUT they are doing the cruise next Christmas. It is booked.

Chapter 6: Time for a nap..... Ya right!

We headed back to POP as fast as my aching feet could carry us. V does not normally nap and she puts up a fuss if I ever suggest it, but I prepped and told her that she was laying down to nap. We got back to POP and she would not settle down. UGH! She needed that nap. An early morning and I had a late night planned. She would not nap. So I popped her on the Bed and turned on the TV to just rest...... Ok really? After 5 minutes of flicking channels I came to the realization that there was nothing appropriate on the TV for a 4 year old. Seriously? This is Disney World!!!! No Disney Junior! No Disney movies.... nothing but sports and news and..... The Disney channel with shows aimed at preteens. I think that is my one complaint about Disney World. So after watching her spin circles in the room, (hmmmm after effects of cotton candy possibly?) I said alright, lets go back to Magic Kingdom! We must have eaten some dinner first.
On the way there, V made a new friend! I can’t remember their names, but we talked with a lovely family who had a little boy and girl. Their boy was probably about 5 and their girl about 2. The girls were shy to start, but by the end of that bus ride, they were kissing each other goodbye!

Once we got to Magic Kingdom, we headed straight for the fairies. The wait was LONG! V had finally just watched the first Tink movie before we got there and set she liked it. (She hasn’t watched it since!) We saw Tink and Vidia and both were great with V, but you could tell it had been a long day!

After that we walked out to see that everyone was getting ready to see the parade. The Hub was already filling up. We grabbed some spots. It was like being packed in with sardines. I managed to leave V in the stroller where we were sitting and tip toe through all the people, literally like 10 feet only to the road and bought V one of light up spinning Tinkerbells (I could see V the whole time no worries!) When I started going back, I could see that someone had pushed my backpack that was holding my spot beside V to the side a bit and was sitting in my spot. Uhhhh really???? When I asked them to move so I could sit where I had been sitting with my 4 year old, they were pretty disgruntled. Uhh RUDE!

I snapped some pics of the pretty castle all lit up and then some of V!

We saw the Electric Parade which V liked. She was REALLY tired tho. Remember, no nap! My pictures did not turn out great, I need to take some notes for next time.

Our excitement for the night; well mine, as V I don’t think saw, was during Magic Memories and You. She got her picture on the castle!! It was in the lower left area and was a photo pass pic taken at BBB of V and The Fairy Godmother! I was pretty excited. The pictures do go fast and we weren’t right close so there is a margin of error, but I’m about 99% sure it was her! I wish I was recording the show. The show was amazing, I can’t believe they knew how to do all that. Utterly breathtaking and a little bit teary on my part! I LOVE the surprise videos and was surprised myself to see more than one clip from a video I had seen on You Tube in the months before.

I was pretty worried for these fireworks. V has always been sensitive to sound. The summer she was 3 I took her to fireworks when we were camping and the end result..... not so good. She cried and cried and If I had been smart I would have bought those headphones for her to block out the sound. I was not. She did okay. I don’t think she was thrilled about watching them, which was hard for me. I LOVE fireworks. I got some okay shots of the fireworks, not fabulous, but nice ones to remember!.

And then it was over. I packed our bag up and we got in the swarm heading down Main Street... or did we...

741.jpg

Nah; I told V to close her eyes and go to sleep and we wormed our way over to The Emporium for a little shopping. V was asleep in minutes and I was up for a little shopping. I didn’t really see anything I wanted, I was trying to be really restrictive about buying but I knew V would just love the Minnie Mouse Dress and it would be perfect for our dinner the next night, so I bought her the Minnie Dress, sequined ears, Minnie Hair bows and Minnie flip flops. They were all so darn cute! V was fast asleep and a surprise plan began formulating in my mind. Eventually closer to 11 I paid and we walked down a pretty empty Main Street to the buses. One of the CM’s stopped me and gave me some Mickey stickers and commented how Cinderella had turned into Sleeping Beauty. The line for POP busses was LONG! We were past the end. I was in no hurry to wake V up. There were a lot of buses coming and the line did move pretty fast. But still there was no way we were getting on any time soon. We were getting closer to the front when I realized that V was not wearing her brand new Croc Flip Flops. I checked the bag and they were not in there. I checked the stroller. No shoes in sight. She must have kicked them off at The Emporium or Main St. Or somewhere while she was sleeping and I didn’t notice them. Well Crap – we couldn’t go back now and look for them.

There was no way we were getting on the bus that was loading or the next one so I didn’t wake V yet. That bus left and the next one pulled up. Then out of nowhere another bus pulls up beside the one loading and starts loading and that line moved so freaking fast. I didn’t have a chance to wake V up. I called her name and shook her shoulder telling her to wake up, but we were at the bus doors and I had no choice but to pick her up out of the stroller and just put her on the bus while I folded the stroller. Dazed and confused with the bright lights, the poor kid wandered down the bus (without shoes) while I got on. She headed to the back, but a lady near the back doors stopped her from going to the upper level. I called V over but she kind of just looked at the lady and crawled on her lap and pretty much just went back to sleep. The people around us were getting a good laugh. There wasn’t much I could do; I was standing holding a stroller and a pole because there weren’t any seats and there was no way I could hold her too. I called her over to stand with me, but the lady said she was fine. (I think she was really enjoying herself since her kids were much older-in their late teens). After the bus started moving, the driver told everyone to behave themselves as there was a princess on board! I managed to stow the stroller in a spot so it was out of the way and then a boy around 13 or 14 maybe asked if I wanted to sit down so I got V and sat. The man beside me was nice too and lifted V’s feet so they were on his lap and she was more comfortable. She was miserable however, she wanted to go back to sleep and couldn’t. She kept kicking the man too as she was trying to get comfortable and he asked where glass slippers were..... uh she lost them somewhere I answered. Uh oh, he says. I hope our bus doesn’t turn into a Pumpkin! (so cute!)

We were finally back at POP and some women helped out by taking my bag and the stroller off the bus while I carried V. They were in front of me in line at MK and said if they’d realized I was alone they would have offered help then too. Ah well. We headed straight back to our room and V was in bed in 5 minutes and then asleep right away. I prepped for the next day and pretty much collapsed into bed.

What a day!

Oh I forgot to mention a little tid bit of Info.....
I had told you all about my current not so happy job situation and that I have been trying to get on my local school boards supply list for 4 years, Well it finally happened. After they lost my paperwork and had to redo everything... I got the info word that I am on the supply list! wahoo... Of course I have been waiting for a week (last thursday) to get a call from the person who handles the hiring in order to get my hiring paperwork going and still havent gotten that call so I will be calling tomorrow. Seriously it's all about the hand holding in this process..

What a great start to your TR! Can't wait to read more!

How awesome for Kadence! V couldn't have cared less if he was there or not I don't think, but she hasn't met any princes so.... it would have been nice. Next trip we are visiting Park Fare!

You trip report is so much fun to read. V is absolutely adorable! Can't wait to read more!
Thanks so much, she is just the sweetest thing. Love her to bits.

She loved the makeover. It was definitely her favourite part of Disney!

Awww thanks! Where abouts in ONT are you? Teaching has come through so I hope that i can get enough hours or LTO's to be financially independent and move out and just breath a sigh of relief, but that will be quite some time coming. I love nannying more than anything and i am paid well, but at the end of the day, not enough to live on my own and buy a house.

What a wonderful TR. I have subscribed! :cool1:
Welcome aboard!
Just getting caught up...can't wait to read more! :thumbsup2

Hope you enjoyed the last update.

Enjoying the updates. I wish the parents seemed more excited about the Disney trip! I've subbed to your PTR, but gotta get over there and get caught up!!

Did you call lost and found for her shoes? I hope you found them.

Kids, they think O I don't need a nap, then out comes the crankiness! Heck, I need a nap!:lmao:

Can't wait to see V in her Minnie Mouse outfit!
