Chapter 6: Time for a nap..... Ya right!
We headed back to POP as fast as my aching feet could carry us. V does not normally nap and she puts up a fuss if I ever suggest it, but I prepped and told her that she was laying down to nap. We got back to POP and she would not settle down. UGH! She needed that nap. An early morning and I had a late night planned. She would not nap. So I popped her on the Bed and turned on the TV to just rest...... Ok really? After 5 minutes of flicking channels I came to the realization that there was nothing appropriate on the TV for a 4 year old. Seriously? This is Disney World!!!! No Disney Junior! No Disney movies.... nothing but sports and news and..... The Disney channel with shows aimed at preteens. I think that is my one complaint about Disney World. So after watching her spin circles in the room, (hmmmm after effects of cotton candy possibly?) I said alright, lets go back to Magic Kingdom! We must have eaten some dinner first.
On the way there, V made a new friend! I cant remember their names, but we talked with a lovely family who had a little boy and girl. Their boy was probably about 5 and their girl about 2. The girls were shy to start, but by the end of that bus ride, they were kissing each other goodbye!
Once we got to Magic Kingdom, we headed straight for the fairies. The wait was LONG! V had finally just watched the first Tink movie before we got there and set she liked it. (She hasnt watched it since!) We saw Tink and Vidia and both were great with V, but you could tell it had been a long day!
After that we walked out to see that everyone was getting ready to see the parade. The Hub was already filling up. We grabbed some spots. It was like being packed in with sardines. I managed to leave V in the stroller where we were sitting and tip toe through all the people, literally like 10 feet only to the road and bought V one of light up spinning Tinkerbells (I could see V the whole time no worries!) When I started going back, I could see that someone had pushed my backpack that was holding my spot beside V to the side a bit and was sitting in my spot. Uhhhh really???? When I asked them to move so I could sit where I had been sitting with my 4 year old, they were pretty disgruntled. Uhh RUDE!
I snapped some pics of the pretty castle all lit up and then some of V!
We saw the Electric Parade which V liked. She was REALLY tired tho. Remember, no nap! My pictures did not turn out great, I need to take some notes for next time.
Our excitement for the night; well mine, as V I dont think saw, was during Magic Memories and You. She got her picture on the castle!! It was in the lower left area and was a photo pass pic taken at BBB of V and The Fairy Godmother! I was pretty excited. The pictures do go fast and we werent right close so there is a margin of error, but Im about 99% sure it was her! I wish I was recording the show. The show was amazing, I cant believe they knew how to do all that. Utterly breathtaking and a little bit teary on my part! I LOVE the surprise videos and was surprised myself to see more than one clip from a video I had seen on You Tube in the months before.
I was pretty worried for these fireworks. V has always been sensitive to sound. The summer she was 3 I took her to fireworks when we were camping and the end result..... not so good. She cried and cried and If I had been smart I would have bought those headphones for her to block out the sound. I was not. She did okay. I dont think she was thrilled about watching them, which was hard for me. I LOVE fireworks. I got some okay shots of the fireworks, not fabulous, but nice ones to remember!.
And then it was over. I packed our bag up and we got in the swarm heading down Main Street... or did we...
Nah; I told V to close her eyes and go to sleep and we wormed our way over to The Emporium for a little shopping. V was asleep in minutes and I was up for a little shopping. I didnt really see anything I wanted, I was trying to be really restrictive about buying but I knew V would just love the Minnie Mouse Dress and it would be perfect for our dinner the next night, so I bought her the Minnie Dress, sequined ears, Minnie Hair bows and Minnie flip flops. They were all so darn cute! V was fast asleep and a surprise plan began formulating in my mind. Eventually closer to 11 I paid and we walked down a pretty empty Main Street to the buses. One of the CMs stopped me and gave me some Mickey stickers and commented how Cinderella had turned into Sleeping Beauty. The line for POP busses was LONG! We were past the end. I was in no hurry to wake V up. There were a lot of buses coming and the line did move pretty fast. But still there was no way we were getting on any time soon. We were getting closer to the front when I realized that V was not wearing her brand new Croc Flip Flops. I checked the bag and they were not in there. I checked the stroller. No shoes in sight. She must have kicked them off at The Emporium or Main St. Or somewhere while she was sleeping and I didnt notice them. Well Crap we couldnt go back now and look for them.
There was no way we were getting on the bus that was loading or the next one so I didnt wake V yet. That bus left and the next one pulled up. Then out of nowhere another bus pulls up beside the one loading and starts loading and that line moved so freaking fast. I didnt have a chance to wake V up. I called her name and shook her shoulder telling her to wake up, but we were at the bus doors and I had no choice but to pick her up out of the stroller and just put her on the bus while I folded the stroller. Dazed and confused with the bright lights, the poor kid wandered down the bus (without shoes) while I got on. She headed to the back, but a lady near the back doors stopped her from going to the upper level. I called V over but she kind of just looked at the lady and crawled on her lap and pretty much just went back to sleep. The people around us were getting a good laugh. There wasnt much I could do; I was standing holding a stroller and a pole because there werent any seats and there was no way I could hold her too. I called her over to stand with me, but the lady said she was fine. (I think she was really enjoying herself since her kids were much older-in their late teens). After the bus started moving, the driver told everyone to behave themselves as there was a princess on board! I managed to stow the stroller in a spot so it was out of the way and then a boy around 13 or 14 maybe asked if I wanted to sit down so I got V and sat. The man beside me was nice too and lifted Vs feet so they were on his lap and she was more comfortable. She was miserable however, she wanted to go back to sleep and couldnt. She kept kicking the man too as she was trying to get comfortable and he asked where glass slippers were..... uh she lost them somewhere I answered. Uh oh, he says. I hope our bus doesnt turn into a Pumpkin! (so cute!)
We were finally back at POP and some women helped out by taking my bag and the stroller off the bus while I carried V. They were in front of me in line at MK and said if theyd realized I was alone they would have offered help then too. Ah well. We headed straight back to our room and V was in bed in 5 minutes and then asleep right away. I prepped for the next day and pretty much collapsed into bed.
What a day!
