V&A - chef's table in dining room?

I have tried unsucessfully to book Chef's table at V&A for our trip, although I am now waitlisted, if we dont get lucky is it possible to pay a surcharge and eat the chef's table menu in the main dining room?Has anyone done this before?

A lot depends on how crowded they expect to be. Nornally there are two setingas at V&A, one from about 5:30 until about 6:15 and the other from about 8:30 to 9:15.

The CT is one seating at 6:00 and most people are there for about four hours.

So it would have to be for the early seating and they would have to not need the table for the late seating.

You can ask about it when you make your reservation; if it is available they will let you know.
