We are in the process of buying resale and I have a question.

We have 79 2007 points coming to us from the previous owner on a Sept UY contract that will be used in the Spring of 2008.

If I want to book a trip for Sept/Oct 2008 using the 2008 points, how far out can I book and will I have to borrow the points prior to booking?

Thanks!

You can book a stay at your home resort starting 11 months from your check-out date. You can book other resorts starting 7 months from your check-out date. When you make a reservation, you must have enough points in the same Use Year as your dates of stay to pay for it. Your 2008 points can be used for stays from Sep 1, 2008 - Aug 31, 2009 so they are in the correct UY for your Sep/Oct 2008 trip. If you needed more points you could bank those 79 2007 points into your 2008 UY for that trip (if you didn't already have other plans for those points). If you needed even more points you could borrow points from your 2009 UY into your 2008 UY for your Sep/Oct '08 trip. Just be aware that banking and borrowing are "final" transactions. Once you move points from one UY into another by banking or borrowing, those points cannot be put back into their original UY.

That was the key that I wasn't sure about!

Thanks for the response!
