We are considering buying direct for Polynesian. Is there any UY left that would get us 16,17 and 18 points? Just curious. We have never added on but we are seriously considering adding at Poly. Our current UY is June and I know we do not get them for that UY.

Thanks.

A December UY would still get you 2016 points. ALso October. It would just make your points harder to manage.
Also if you add on in your current use year, you can get as few as 25 points. The minimum may be higher for a new contract.

If you don't buy the same UY as you already own, you will need to purchase enough points for a new contract. You would have 2016 points for any month after August (as long as you close before Aug 31).

What is minimum to add on new contract? Other than UY month being different what makes it difficult to manage? Just curious. We are looking to add 100-150 points. We haven't decided.

To be brief, it operates as a completely separate account. You can't combine points for a single reservation with doing a transfer, which cannot be done or used online.

Thank you. This explains it a little more. I can see why it can be complicated. Just trying to decide if the extra points would be worth the hassle.

I've shared my story before: I own a small BWV contract with a different use year than my other points. I use it exclusively for a short stay at BWV during Food&Wine every other year. That's is its sole purpose and I will never use the points for anything else or try to combine them with my other contracts. In that scenario, its easy to manage. Anything beyond that and it becomes a nightmare.

If you really want to "add on" some points to use along with your current contract, stick with the same use year. If you're buying a contract for a single purpose which will be managed independently, then a different use year isn't as but might of a deal.

But, then, you should also consider the best use year for your travel habits.
