Took my car back in yesterday because the check engine light came on again after having it in on Tuesday. They don;t have a clue why it is doing this. So, I am getting a rental (their expence) for today and tomorrow.

PROBLEM: I leave Saturday to go to my sister's because we fly out of DFW on Sunday. They will only pay for a renal until the day the car is fixed. Hopefully they will figure out what they messed up on last Friday. I did not have the check engine light on before I took it in for a oil change and inspection. I also told them to do the 30,000 mile check up.

If it is ot ready tomorrow, I wonder if they will let me have it back to hopefully make it to DFW and back and I can put it back in the shop after WDW.

Sorry you are having car problems. Hope everything works out so you can go to WDW and not get back home to deal with car problems.

I know how you are feeling, I'm so down right now with my car. The rear sway bar broke last thur. they couldn't fix it until tues. because nobody works on monday(holiday) Then they noticed sway bar damaged straut, got replacement for that then found out my car had a 6 spring straut not the normal 5 spring type on most Ford Taurus, couldn't get part until late yesterday. Have a rental get the car back today, 342.00, car rental 118.00. Get in the car notice check engine lite is on, go back in talk to mechanic about the check engine lite and he tells me he didn't notice it on when he test drove the car, he would have to hook up to a computer and find out what is wrong. Go figure I told him I'll be in next week. Not very happy.

It is a 99 Cadillac Catera. It has been a really great car. I love it. I have heard that the check engine light can detect about 70 different things, but I sure hope it is ready tomorrow.

This morning, Jim said we ought to just go trade it in and he would get me a Miata. First off, the Catera is paid for. Second, the Miata is a 2 seater only...... and 3rd, I could not pick up payments on the Miata when I get ready to move out!!
