UT 2 + 2 deal vs. Universal's 2 + 2 deal and upgrading to AP?

I want to upgrade to AP's and get the extra 6 months but can I buy the Undercover Tourist 2 + 2 deal and upgraded those?

UT 3 adult/ 2 + 2 tickets are $785
Universal 3 adult/ 2 + 2 tickets are $878

I was wondering if anyone has successfully done this?

The last people who reported doing this found that if you upgrade to an AP, they will give you the price of the Universal equivalent ticket towards your upgrade. That doesn't mean that is the policy and YMMV.
