We usually stay at a DTD hotel on our arrival day and switch over to a Disney hotel for the length of our trip. We like the convenience to Winn Dixie on Apopka -Vineland and DTD shopping and dining in the evening gets us revved for the rest of our stay on property. I was hoping Marriott was still there as we have rewards to use but I see it's changed hands. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced DTD hotel for a family of 4?

We are staying at the Holiday Inn in DTD next month. I researched Tripadvisor and it got great reviews. Luckily, i have enough points we are staying two nights (prior to our Disney cruise) for free :thumbsup2

I can come back and report if you would like?

Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is a great property. It's 2.5 miles to DTD
The Waldorf is another. These are sure to impress you.

If it's only one night I would just go with the cheapest hotel which will probably be the Wyndham. If you are will to go a little distance the Clarion on Palm Pkwy is usually under $80....often you can get it for around $50.

Another option is to book soemthing on LMT. They have lots of great deals at nice hotels.

Will you have a car? There's a Courtyard on Palm Parkway where you could use your Marriott points. It's right around the corner from DTD. There's a new Fairfield on Apopka-Vineland right past Palm Parkway that's close, too (used to be Country Inn and Suites; it's across the street form the Walgreen's and Joe's Crab Shack). Plus you have all the Marriott hotels at Little Lake Bryan.

If you really want DTD, I would check Mosuesavers.com and see what discounts Mary has for that area. Or Travelzoo.com.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista - it is on Palm Parkway - a five minute drive to Winn Dixie (the one at Lake Rd. and Apopka Vineland Rd. I think) and includes breakfast. I booked for $56/night before taxes on Last Minute travel. I had a good stay there. Although breakfast was at times crowded - there was a fridge and microwave in the room which I really liked.
