using your tickets - photo ID required?

Hi,

I just received my ticket - the WDW 5 day and the 5 park flexi and a couple of the dinner shows tickets. On the back of some them it says photo ID also required. Does this mean that we are all going to have to carry our passports around with us?

My mum needed photo id in states she photocopied her passport and it was sufficient most places.

we were told this when we went last time, we carried our photo ideas around with us and were only asked for them a couple of times, I think it depends on who you get and how busy they are.

We didn't need ID for flex tickets, but we did have to sign in on most days. They do check against the sig on the back. At WDW they have a fingerprint scanner - you put your index and middle fingers onto a sort of plate every time you use the ticket.

The only time I used my ID was to get my free Sea World beer - apparently I look under 30. Yay!

I photocopied the page in our passports with the photo on then laminated it (important if you go on lots of water rides!) We have used the same copies for the last 4 years now and they have always been accepted whenever we are asked for ID. I keep them in my bag for the whole holiday and lock the passports in the safe.

In all our visits to Orlando, we've only ever needed photo id twice, and that was when we were changing ticket vouchers for the real thing. That's not to say we won't in the future.

During our last trip both mine and DH Annual Passes wouldn't work part way through the holiday - so they needed to see our photo id. We had the new style driving licences - they were easy to carry in our wallet
