Using your mobile phone

I lost my old phone in Barcelona a couple of months ago Since then, a mate in work has very kindly given me an old phone of his. I haven't a clue which model it is, except that it is a motorola.

I looked in the settings, and in the 'phone info' part, it says the technology is 'quad band GSM'. Does anyone know if this will work in the US?

itl work fine in the states. quad band just means the phone is capable of connecting via 4 different frequencys. normaly you only need a tri band handset for the states.

You might just want to check with your service provider that it's set up for 'roaming'
