Using TS credits as QS credits

I know this doesn't make sense for most people, but I'm wondering if we can use our TS credits as QS credits on the dining plan?

Why do I ask such a dumb, wasteful question? Well, we have done both plans before, and much prefer the freedom of flexibility of QS dining, with an occasional TS meal (loved the old DP with tip & app included, but those days are long gone). Normally we stay at Values during FD because we like the QSDP, but I would really like to upgrade to a Moderate. However, I don't want to be tied down/deal with ADR's.

Whether or not we can "waste" some TS credits on QS will determine if we stay at a Value or Moderate...provided FD is offered again.

Waste away! My DB and DSIL did this last year with their free dining and loved the option of doing a TS as walk-up when there was availability and using the rest as QS.

With just the two of you, you can probably do quite a few walk-up TS or day of ADRs. Guest services at your moderate could help you if you don't have a smart phone.

The 2012 dining plan brochure said you use TS credits at QS locations, but that language was not included in the 2013 or 2014 brochures. Reports from last year (2013) indicated that you could still do this.

Thanks! Anyone have experience doing it in 2014? I can't imagine why Disney wouldn't allow this, as it's saving them money. But I know "rules are rules"...

Yes, you can still use TS for QS once your actual QS meals are gone.

Did this last year. For one meal, my ds4 wasn't hungry at dinner so I didn't order him anything and he picked from my plate. At the end we were left with his 1 TS credit. We used it on our last day at the resort food court, conversion was 1 child TS for 1 child QS, there were no extras but at least it wasn't wasted.
