Using Resort Fee Priviliges at Dolphin??

Okay, if I can't waive this fee, I'm going to get some benefit from it. Anyone know if there is a time limit on how long one can use the internet access line, and exactly where is the health club located? I never stumbled across it last year.

I believe the health club at the Dolphin is on the ground floor...west side....down where tubbies and the laundry are and the Swan health club is on the side of the Swan lap pool.

Do you have to bring a lap top or do they provide computers to use? (I was thinking they might have computers in the business/conference area)

You have to use your own computer and from what I understand you have to have an ethernet card (!?). Bill, your posting made me laugh-I feel the same way-my husband used the health club the two days he was with us, and because I couldn't STAND to pay that fee without using it, I went down and used the health club ellipitical machine the day he was gone! So, the fee forced me to exercise and work off the 1/2 pound of Boardwalk fudge I had eaten the night before. My husband checked out both clubs and said the Dolphin one was nicer, so I only saw the Dolphin one. It is right next to the pool.

Bill, you had asked before about car rentals. We were able to get an extremely inexpensive car rental even though it was President's Day weekend through Nova Rentacar. This is a European car rental company. It allowed me to rent a car through the UK from Alamo and saved us at least $300. The girl at the Alamo place looked at the confirmation funny and said "This is through the UK!"-whispered with her supervisor, but it was all kosher. http://www.rentacar-europe.com The cheapest rates I could come up with for a 4 day economy rental through US sources were $100/day-I got 4 days for $136.

Hello, Bill! The health club is FAB, and located to the right of the exit door to the Grotto pool (past the Arcade, Laundry, Salon, Dolphin Kids Club). Take some fresh fruit (in the basket on the desk), and refill your water bottles with the FRESH SPRING WATER in the dispensers. The Jacuzzi is heavenly, showers are full of amenities (soaps, creams, shampoos, lotions, etc.), and robes, towels, etc. Also, the Steam sauna is relaxing and will help cleanse the effects of "one too many" at the Pub @ R & C! LOL.

The internet use is FREE for 60 minutes at a time. So, just disconnect and reconnect every hour...and NO FEES!

Thanks for the advice and especially for remembering my need for a rental car. I'm gong to the link you posted right now. BTW, I'd be surprised if a network card is necessary for 'net access, probably just a phone jack and modem.

This time down I'm really going to use the gym. We were able to waive the fee in Nov., so I just walked faster to burn off the beer calories. Some of us have trouble with fudge, the picture below shows my weakness.

They now have high speed internent access at the S&D - but it requires that you have a network(ethernet) card in your laptop.

The alternative to that is to use a dial up to access your own ISP - but in this case be sure not to stay online more than 60 minutes at one time or you will start to encounter additional phone charges.

Well you guys have convinced me to at least try the health club. Figured it was too much effort to have to pack extra sneakers, tee shirts etc but the sound of the sauna is to tempting. Do people actually shower there rather than going back to their rooms?

I was SO determined to use that health club that I used the Ellipicatal (sp) machine in my Brown Born walking shoes! (I only brought the walking shoes and my sandals)!

I didn't notice where the shower and sauna was-I'll have to ask my husband.

Now I'm curious. What is the minimum age for the health club?
Also, if you happen to be walking by, can you just stop to fill up your water bottle, especially when heading out to or at the pool?

I had the fee waived last time I was there.
