Using refillable mug bought from one night with DDP if transferring to a resort w/o DDP?

I heard that if you bought the DDP for just one night, then switched resorts and stayed several more nights but without the plan, you'd be able to continue using the Refillable Mug you'd gotten the first night. Has anyone recently done that who can verify that it's true?
Also, since I'm not sure, I'm considering just comparing the cost of the DDP for one night with the amount of money I actually spend to see if it indeed saves money by buying the DDP. Good idea or do you think that the savings of the Refillable Mug definitely makes it worth it?

The refillable mug is good for 14 days from purchase so you will be fine to use it even if you do not have the DDP at your second resort.

I've done a one night stay with dining plan and then switched to a different resort without dining plan several times and my mug has always continued to work. The last time I did this was last spring though, so it's always possible that things have changed. Hopefully someone with recent experience will chime in.

Do it all the time. Most recently in December. Works fine as others have said. I find it financially worthwhile, especially if you actually use the mug which I do. Lunch at Satu’li Canteen, dinner at GFC with alcohol … plus the mug and a snack? Definitely worth it for me.

I have also done this, especially when the airfare is less expensive the day before my package begins. Once I figure in the airfare & DDP for the day (for places we were eating at anyway) if it covers the cost of the room for the extra night we go for it
