Using Priceline for Cocoa Beach -- more than 2 people?

I was ready to get our room through Priceline, but was concerned about the blurb about the room only being guaranteed to accommodate two adults. We have two adults and two children and as long as we have two double beds we will be okay.

As a practical matter, do you ever get a room that will not accommodate four people? We could even manage with a king bed and sleeper sofa, but I got a little worried about actually getting two twins, or a king and no sleeper.

Any experience using Priceline hotels in the Cocoa Beach area when you need to sleep four? Thanks for any help!:Pinkbounc

Hi, we tried and tried to get a 3* on priceline. Then where I least expected it, I got the better hotel and it was cheaper! I went to overstock.com and they have a travel section. I got the Hilton on the beach for $42 per night! Very excited. Hope this helps!

Fred,
I have been reading and learning about this for days now...
If and when you bid for a room on Priceline...they usually only tell you that it is for two people but most rooms hold four. More than likely, you'll get a K bed or 2 dbls. The room that holds a K bed may or may not have the couch. However, the up side is that
when and if you book...you can call the hotel and request the 2 dbls. :)
Check out www.biddingfortravel.com I was told this site is good for info, but I can't for the life of me figure it out yet, lol:confused:

Good Luck~

PS-Heck, even if a room is for two people, how do they know if it is for two women or a couple that dont sleep together, lol::yes::
When we get away, I always ask for an extra rollaway so that my son and daughter arent in the same bed..and no one has ever questioned me.

ChattyKathy -- Thanks. I read all of that, but what I am trying to get are some first-hand experiences regarding rooms which sleep four.

If people only seem to have gotten rooms which already sleep four, or if all hotels have been accommodating to provide a room sleeping four, then I will go ahead and try it. If, however, someone has gotten a hotel which gave them a hard time when trying to get a room for four, then I may not take that chance.

It's a bit of a gamble regardless, but didn't want to take the step without getting a bit of feedback from the disboards!

Priceline policy (as you said) is that the rooms are guaranteed for 2 people and that they will be either a king bed or 2 double beds. However, after you get the reservation, you are able to call the hotel and request the 2 double beds. I've never had a hotel turn down this request. I have read of situations where the "classier" hotels in big cities have done so on occasion.

Most hotels have a "kids stay free" policy, and consider your Priceline reservation to mean 2 adults. I have a friend who put a family of 5 in a Priceline room with their own air matress for number 5.

There are only 2 of us, but I don't like to share a bed with my wiggle-worm daughter. Therefore, after I get my priceline reservation, I call the hotel directly to "confirm" the reservation and specifically request non-smoking, 2 double beds. I've always gotten it. All Priceline rooms are supposed to be non-smoking, but you can also request a smoking room if desired.

You will not get 2 twins. You could get a king and no sleeper per Priceline regs, but I've always had them honor my request for 2 full size. My specific experience is with Hilton and Holiday Inn. Priceline also uses a Doubletree (a Hilton affiliate) in Cocoa Beach.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn this past September in Cocoa Beach thu Priceline and we got 2 double beds.

We were also asked at check-in what location we would like...I though that was very nice of the hotel.

I use PL a lot for hotels and have never not received the bedding I called to request. When I travel with the whole family or me with the children, I have always received 2 double beds when I requested it. Unless you bid for European hotels or New York City, you will likely be fine, BUT, there COULD be a problem. If you aren't willing to take that chance, then book conventionally.

I have ended up in Radissons, Holiday Inns, Wyndhams, Hyatts, Marriotts among others, and have never has a problem bringing my children at no additional cost, and have never not received 2 beds or a king if requested.

Just call the hotel after you get your bid and request what you want. You can call the location directly, or the national toll free reservation number and they will add your request to the reservation.

We pricelined a room for a few nights prior to our 4 night cruise in Nov 2001, and didn't have a problem getting 2 double beds then. The only time we did have that problem was when we stayed near Universal in Los Angeles, They not only wouldn't give us a double we also had a great view of their huge sattilite (S?) dish.
Luckily it was only one night. I have also heard it could be a problem in Hawaii. What I would really like to know is if you can gar. you will get connecting rooms if you bid for 2 rooms, one for adults, one for the kids? If anyone knows please help.
Thanks
