We are going to WDW in Dec!! My husband and I both have points with My Points and I have heard about people using their points for their Disney trips...somethings I remember were Rainforest Cafe gift certs...gift certs to REI for water...any other suggestions??? Thanks!!

I use mine for Rainforest Gift Card, which I think can also be used at the new T Rex place and maybe Yak and YetI (you might want to confirm this one). Since we drive, I also get gas cards.

You can also cash out for stores you would normally pay cash for everyday living (Walgreens or WalMart type of store), then the cash you would have spent you can stash away for Disney.

Yes you can use your RFC cards at the Yak & Yeti but only at the sit down one not the counter service around the corner.

Thats exactly what i do with MyPoints..buy gas, food and shopping cards, for disney ive joined homeclickin,to purchase, and redeem, disney and universal passes..

Be careful with MyPoints. I used my daughter's computer to do some of my emails from them (my computer was out of commission for over 2 months) and I got an email that they cancelled my account. No reason. I emailed them and told them that not only did I use them but that I also had a credit card with them that accrues points (and I did cancel it) and that I was a Bzzagent. NOTHING!! They do moniter their site but don't try to email them, they respond to nothing. They would not even acknowledge my email and they took over 5,000 points that I had accrued and was going to use for vacation. I now use Quickrewards and I love Quickrewards, was a little hard to get used to the layout but very easy to accrue points to cash out. You can actually cash out for Disney gift cards or Disney Dollars.

Does your daughter or anyone in her home/computer have a mypoints account also? If so, it may have looked like fraud (two accounts for same person based on computer's ip address). I don't really know all of their policies, but I know for other sites having two accounts on one computer is grounds for banning. That does stink though, that's alot of points to lose.

I really hope this doesn't happen to us; my husband and I both have an account that we use regularly. But, I've read the rules and all it says is one account, per person. It does not say anything about one account per computer or one account per home address. We obviously use the same computers, so I'm sure some of the IP logs are going to be the same.

I'm going to worry now!

I find MyPoints to be very responsive to emails - I have contacted them a few times regarding crediting issues & cashouts & they have always responded very promptly - I'm sorry that the OP has not had such luck.

You may want to be wary about saving/cashing out for RFC gift cards. Landry's Restaurants is very close to bankruptcy (there was a very recent thread on here - last week? - discussing this). If you are going soon, I wouldn't worry. If you are stockpiling for a future trip, be careful.
