Using Multiple Contracts

I just bought my 4th contract, a resale at SS. My original contract was a resale I purchased in 1999. The next 2 add on's I purchased from Disney so all 3 had the same use yr. This new contract has a different use yr.

Problem I'm facing: Disney is telling me that this new contract can't be linked to my other 3 contracts because of the different use yr. and that I will have to set up a new member account on the DVC website using a different email address.

My Question for all of you is, how do you handle your points and reservations using different member #'s and accounts? I naively assumed that everything would still be tied together and I would continue as I have for all these years. Am I going to have to transfer these points every year to be able to combine them with my other points or do you just split up the reservation between different accounts?:crazy2:

Thanks for your help

How I do mine with different UY.
Get a spreadsheet together that works for you. I use them as separate memberships keeping everything separate unless there is an absolute reason I need to transfer some points. Unless you want to sell what you just bought and wait for the other UY to come available.

Shame you didn't know the facts before you bought. Everything is separate when you own different UY's. Accounts, member numbers, paperwork, dues bills, banking dates, it's like being owned by different people.

You will have to book separately or transfer from one account to the other. Each has the risks of having problems.

Multiple use years does bring inconveniences, as already mentioned.

FYI though, when you book, at least you have your different membership numbers in a list and you can toggle between the two on the dvcmember page. I remember when I was purchasing I was worried I'd be required to do separate logins to access each; thankfully that's not the case.

I have two contracts under one member number and one under a second member number. I have one login on the DVC member page, but I can only look at one membership at a time. If I want to make a reservtion using both memberships, I must transfer. BUT, you cannot transfer banked or borrowed points. And transferred points cannot be borrowed, but they can be banked.

When you need all your points, plus borrowed points, you have to make two separate reservations and get them linked.

First, if they have the same ownership then MS ought to be able to link the second membership to your same online user set up. We have 2 UY's but only one log on to the website and there is a drop down to select which UY to view.

In use if I'm using points from both UY's I tend to book full nights under each and have MS link them unless it's just a few more points that are needed then I've transferred from the one UY to the other and just done a single reservation. For the most part though I tend to use the UY's virtually as separate memberships and use them for different trips.

Same for me. When I bought the second contract through The Timeshare Store, the final set of paperwork asked for my Member Number/Owner Number. On May 10, I got an email from TSS telling me escrow had closed. On May 13, the deed was recorded. On May 24, I logged onto the member website and could use the pull-down menu to switch back and forth between the two contracts. I did not have to contact DVC in order to arrange to have the second account appear when I logged into the member website.

Different use yr, will bring new membership #, but if owners are same should be under one club ID. Only reason you will have different club ID if owners on the deed are different. Each club ID has its own log in. You can have all the use yr under one club ID thus one log in as along as all contracts belong to same owners.

Thanks you,
It sounds like I will not be able to link all to one DVC login. The name on the contract is slightly different. My wife, who was my life, passed away last year, so the new contract is only in my name. Just one more thing I will have to learn how to deal with. In the big scheme of things, this is pretty trivial.
