Using Knotts Berry Farm Hotel as base for Disneyland/Knotts

From what I've read, it appears that I can take the OCTA Bus #460 from Knotts Berry Farm to Disneyland, and that it runs very frequently. Is this correct?

If so, I can get the KBF Hotel cheaply---much cheaper than what I can find close to Disneyland. If I can use the #460 bus, and it appears it takes ~5 to 7 mins. or so, how bad could that be?

Any thoughts, or has anyone done this before?

Not sure on the bus, but i know when i travelled to DL as a kid with my gparents we always stayed at a hotel walking distance to knotts. I remember a shuttle to DL. If it's that much cheaper and you don't mind waiting for a bus or shuttle, i say go for it. There are other things to spend the extra money on

I wouldn't expect it to be 5-7 minutes. Google maps says 15-17 minutes driving, so when you add in bus stops, etc., I'd expect a half hour trip or so. However, like i often tell my hubby, there's hotel sacrifices I would make if it meant more Disney time :) Make sure it runs as late as you want to stay, too, so you aren't stuck getting an unexpected taxi!

I am not sure if the time on the bus will be rewarding and it could be as long as an hour each way...I am guessing (based on my LA traffic experiences).

I see the ART bus that runs up there only run 9A to 9P, today. It may have other hours later in the season.

This is true... I remember this when we stayed in Buena Park & we're thinking about ART.

I don't know about the bus, but I just wanted to say that we stayed at Knotts for our Disneyland trip in 2012. ( we got a great package deal with hotel, car and airfare) We really enjoyed the Knotts Berry Farm hotel.
FYI the hotel rooms do not have a fridge, but you can request a small bar fridge to be brought into your room, I think it was about $10 for the week or something around that?

And as a resort guest you can get cheap tickets for knotts park. They have great kids rides, and lots of great roller coasters for the older kids /adults.

have fun

I believe you all are right about the time involved. From the bus schedule, it must be more like ~20 mins. or so. The rates are high for the hotels on Harbor across the street. Even further down Harbor is a bit expensive.

It's definitely something to think about in regard to the shuttle times and park closing times.

To take the OCTA 460, you have to walk a distance from the hotel and wait on the corner of Beach & LaPalma...it's about 15-20 minutes each way, and the bus doesn't always show up right on time. The ART bus picks up/drops off right in front of the hotel, and is a much more pleasant experience, IMO.
I've taken both buses to/from Knott's from the Disneyland area many times.
I stayed at the Knott's Hotel for the first time last December...my only complaint is that the beds aren't very comfortable. I loved being able to walk to/from my room to go to the park, especially after a long day! If you can get one of the Snoopy-themed rooms, they are FABULOUS!!

We took a taxi back from Knotts to Sheraton Park and it took about 20 minutes or so. So I can't see a bus taking only 5 minutes with stops

We stayed at the Knotts hotel in Feb this year during Presidents wknd. We had one of the larger rooms, 2 queens and had a rollaway brought in. Even with the rollaway, there was still plenty of room in there. There was also a fridge in our room.

We drove over to Anaheim one evening and walked around DTD. I think the drive took around 10 minutes? It was shorter than I expected. That was with our own car and we did not hit any commute traffic. I think staying at Knotts is very doable especially if it's much cheaper. Just don't know about the bus. Could you maybe rent a car? I do remember seeing that Knotts had a shuttle over to Disneyland. Just didn't check into it because we weren't going to be using it.

when we were there couple of weeks ago, we were talking of getting the ART to Knotts.. its the #18 from the corner of Harbor and Katella ..it runs 3 past the hour and stops early evening from the information we were given..
