Using Disney Visa Dream Reward $

Hello!

Does anyone know if you can use the Disney Reward Dollars from the Disney Visa program to pay for food at the various dining establishments? I was thinking of also just putting it all towards the cost of our Hoop-De-Doo Revue tickets. Does anyone know if they take them there?

We just used our reward dollars to pay for the HDDR the last week in October. Everything went smoothly, you have to get your tickets beforehand. I picked up ours at Guest Relations at the Wilderness Lodge two days before the show and used the rewards card. Have fun!

Since this post is OLD, I thought I'd be smart to ask the questions again. We have a lot of Reward Dollars saved up-enough to pay for our resort and dining too. Can I use a loaded rewards card to pay for dining at WDW? Are there any restaurants/eateries/snack areas that don't take the rewards cards?

The restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin will not accept Disney reward dollars. Nor will many of the food/beverage kiosks in the parks. There may also be some locations at Downtown Disney that won't accept them. Most restaurants there are not operated by Disney.

HaHa, yup it's old! I did a search and that's all I got. I did another one and it came up with lots of info...

How about this...Can we charge anything foodwise in the park to our room, then use the rewards as our payment account for our KTTW? That way we only have to carry 1 card around.

My concern is that if we eat at a restaurant that doesn't accept rewards, will it reject the rewards card as final payment when checking out?

As long as you are staying at a Disney resort you can do this. You still won't be able to use your KTTW card to charge at a Swan/Dolphin restaurant, some Downtown Disney restaurants, or at some kiosks.

How does using the rewards at the resort work? Do I have to put a set amount down first?? If we don't use it all what happens?

I know you can do it, but I don't use my rewards for this (I always use them for tickets) so I don't know the particulars. I am sure you can always stop by the front desk and ask if they will credit your account with the reward dollars.

I think we'll use the rewards card wherever we can in the parks, and use the KTTW card at places we can't use the rewards. I think most of the places we plan to eat will accept the rewards. I'll be sure to pay the room charges the night before so I can use the rewards for that.

We always put everything on our KTTW card and then used the Rewards card to pay our balance at the front desk. Just go down to the front desk before your check-out day and pay your balance.

We will be using our card next week to pay for our extras on the Disney Magic.
