Using Disney gift cards to pay for vacation

We are thinking about using disney gift cards to pay for an upcoming vacation. If we have to cancel, will Disney refund the money or would it be put back on the disney gift cards? Thanks

It would go back on your gift cards.

Make sure to keep them until after the trip is over.

The money will be reloaded back to the original gift cards...however..if you lose them, they will issue you new gift cards in the mail, but it takes a couple of weeks. And you would need to cancel by phone rather than online.

Even if you keep one of the gift card they can load all the money in to one. You can also look at the option of Disney Vacation account.

I just booked a room on my gift card and had to cancel a few days later. The money went right back to the card no problem.
