Using Disney Gift Card for dining reservations

Hi all, for our upcoming Disneyland trip, I purchased Disney gift cards with enough funds on them to pay our way. We just hit our 60 day mark so this morning I tried to pay for our World of Color dining package with a gift card but I only saw an option to pay with a credit card.… no option to change payment option to gift card. I tried to enter the gift card number into the credit card area, but of course that didn’t work. I ended up using my credit card because I didn’t want to waste more time and possibly lose the reservation. Please HELP… I hate to think of how much money I out on gift cards if I can’t figure out how to use them

I think you need a CC to secure the reservation, when you are there you can pay the bill the the gift card

For regular dining you can pay with the gc. But when you have to prepay, like dessert parties etc, you have to use a CC online. You can call to book a special event and pay with a gc, but it's not that easy to do with long waits.

PP is correct that you do need to use a CC if you make an ADR, but if this was a prepay you won't be able to switch it once you are there because it'll already be paid for.

Thank you both…that’s too bad though because the dessert/dining packages are probably going to be the most expensive meals for us so was hoping to use the gift cards

Then you'll have to call, it's thr only way to pay for these with gc. But yok run the risk of it booking up while waiting. I don't think they will cancel a payment to switch to gc after you've paid. I feel like it would be discussed more if that worked.

Thanks all…i just used my credit card, I just didn’t realize that I couldn’t use the gift cards for reservations, but I know for next time…which next time is good considering I’ll have well over $1,000 on gift cards since I had to use my credit card
