Hi,

Has anyone been able to confirm if you can use dining credits for other people that aren't included on your room reservation? We have a party of two and will have extra credits left over. We would like to treat to local CM friends to the Boathouse with us. TIA

The server will know how many people are on the plan. The rule use to be very clear that you could not use credits for people not covered by the plan. The latest publication is a little more ambiguous. You might be able to get away with it, or maybe not. It will likely depend on your server.

Sorry to steal the thread, but I have a follow-up question... The OP said she was a party of 2 with credits left over. Does that mean she can (possibly) use 4 credits at dinner even though there are only 2 on the plan? Can you use more credits than number of people on the plan at TS or QS meals? Thanks!

That is the question. There have been a few reports here and there of people using more credits than people with the DxDDP, but I haven't seen any from people with the regular DDP. Unfortunately, this is still a grey area as it is not spelled out on the brochure.

It's been a couple of years since we've been and I remember years ago they were very serious about "no one using credits who wasn't on the plan". People would get into pretty heated debates about it on here. I never understood the requirement. I paid for all the meals, why does Disney care what I do with them? We typically go with my mom, who is local, and then we get 3 QS meals (3 of us on the plan) and share them amongst 4 people. We all get to eat and there's no wasted food. This year it's the 3 of us on the plan and my mom, dad, sister, and her boyfriend who aren't. We'll have the credits, so we were hoping to treat everyone to BOG lunch. I guess we'll see how that goes. Thanks for the reply!

Disney cares because they make more money if you don't use all of your credits. I mean, they installed an entire RFID system so that people couldn't use old mugs to steal 8¢ worth of soda. Are they really going to open up a way for you to extract extra value out of the dining plan?

While it has not been documented by Disney, recent reports have been that people are able to share credits without having an issue.
