Hi,

I am glad to say that I am a new member and cannot wait to get started :cool1:
I have found this forum to be very interesting, however once I think i've got 'it', I read more and get even more confused!! :crazy2:

My specific query is how I can best use the developer points I have been given. I have 200 points and can use them for a couple of locations and World Passport which is great. However I understand that these must be used by 3rd November 2009.

But, does this mean I have to book and have a holiday by Nov 09? If so can I rent these points rather than waste them?
or
Am I right in thinking I can deposit the points for use on RCI? Does this mean I then have 2 years to use the points??

I hope this makes sense...my head is still spinning! :faint:

Thank you in advance!

If your developer points expire on November 3, 2009, then your stay at SSR or one of the DL resorts must be completed on or before 11/3/09.

With RCI (World Passport), you can do a deposit first and then have a certain time to accept a match. Not sure if that time limit is 2 years, I think it may be slightly less. Ask MS. Keep in mind if you do the deposit first, you are locked into an RCI vacation. You can't get the points back if you change your mind. If you don't accept something before the end of the time limti, your points are forfeited.

If you do a search first with RCI, then you can change your mind as long as you don't match something before you change your mind. The points are not committed until a match is found that matches your request. But you would have to accept a match before the points expire. I don't know for sure, but RCI may not be an option once it is 4 months or less to expiration. There are special rules for "late deposits" and I don't know for sure what they are. Maybe someone else will know.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome home!

Check your contract again for the expiration date of the developer points, everyone else who has posted about them has posted that they expire October 3, 2009 not November 3, 2009

Yep...October it is!

I am looking for an RCI holiday so have no problem in depositing the points into that, so long as there is some extended period - just worried I'm not going to get what I am looking for in the short time-frame, if it does have to be used up by 3rd October.

Thank you for your help

Thought you'd like to know.

I have been able to deposit the developer points into RCI and they last 2 years!!
Fantastic - really happy they are not going to be wasted! :cool1:

I am also a new owner!!:cool1: Just for clarification, can the developers points be used anywhere? Our guide led us to believe they could only be used at Saratoga. :confused3 FYI... we bought Jan 14 if that helps anyone with incentive info. Thanks!

We are assuming that every contract is the same.

You should contact your Guide with questions like this. I would hate to tell someone October when maybe they have until November.

Congratulations fellow new member!

Would be best to ask member services, they were very useful and clear as to what I could do with the points.

Good luck! and Welcome :wave2:
